The most amazing thing with this piece, is that it can played by a robot machine (see the music anmation machine for ex) or by an amazingly sensitive pianist such as Martha, and both version are beautiful, possessing, dreamlike.
Very interesting interpretation : Where you expect the pianist to play forte and gradually faster, Martha holds it back, very softly, and does the opposite when you expect a diminuendo and ritenuto ! Beautifully done !
Where did they find her in this and the Jardinssous la pluie ? Is there a broadcast of her inBeethovenAmaj op.101.She used to programme it .I would love to hear her in that.
One of if not the greatest female pianists of the last more than 50 years. Her Rach 3 concerto may be the best ever recorded. This is superb playing as well as tone. Brava! TY.
yr comment is correct and i personally think important the fact of being pupil of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. Ref this interpretation I perceive it closer to Baremboim's so intimate and warm and so far away from Pollini's.
I knoww...not elegant to make comprisons, but sometimes let put the finger in! Regards
lol i actually laughed when i was reading your reply. and no, what i meant is in response to your earlier statement, perfect would be a word to describe this version.
Her sound is gorgeous, and the depth and passion she brings to this nocturne besides the moving delicacy of her touch has very few competitors. This is very great Chopin !
No effing way...Again, I had no idea she plays this piece, but then again, I'm sure she's played most of the repertoire. You are the best thing that's happened to youtube.

Martha can honestly do no wrong, however, I think she plays some parts a little too fast. Otherwise, it's beautiful.

Miciox87-IMHO Michelangeli was one of the greatest pianists that ever lived. I believe Martha Argarich to be one of the greatest living pianist
