I wonder if an orangutang could lift this. I saw this show on tv the other day about orangutangs and the narrator promptly stated that orangutangs are stronger than ALL human beings. I just can't help to speculate...
@Sigtyr I read somewhere that they have excellent pulling strength (and could possibly do pull-ups all day long) but their pressing strength isn't quite as good (ie humans would probably beat them in a bench press).
I'll try to find a source but it sounds believable enough, judging by the way they use their arms.
Ha, ha this guy doesnt really look that strong but he is. he, he, noone in the street would know of the potential ass whipping they can get from this guy if they mess with him.
His lower back was straight. That's what matters. You can round your upper back to make the distance shorter and to activate lats better. It's not bad form. Your lower back rounding, that's where you have problems.
Youtube is so great because you get to see this. I wish KK would do a huge deadlift then slam dunk as basketball right after. I bet with his explosiveness he could easily do it. I hope you can read English Konstantins. Give the fans what they want! Show all the skinny U.S. athletes just what amazing training can do. And, all these people used to say weights would make you muscle bound. They are foolish.
Watching KK lift with his glasses on is like watching Clark Kent transform into Superman. He not only makes the lift easy but he smiles and sometimes playfully holds the weight 950 pounds! extra long and whistles or talks, as if it were nothing. But he doesn't come off cocky, just happy and humble. He reminds me of the great Don Reinhoudt who I used to watch on Worlds Strongest Man on ABC in the 70's. But KK is much leaner. He is an amazing inspiration.
Man not to diss Benedikt, I mean he's the strongest raw dler in the world with a godlike 970lb something dl but Konstantins is freakin 100lbs lighter than him!
@Bsnakes Yeah, I know. Benedikt is insane with his 1015lb dl! (he could have done more too). Love watching his pulls... even though I have no idea how he does them pretty much stiff legged... the guy must have a back of steel or something
@HXCpr0n konstantinovs utilizes his traps and lats to help him deadlift, i guess benny uses his hamstrings to aid his lifting. everyone of these elite guys has a little bit of tweak in form so that they are the strongest they can be given their physiology.
@Meni69 you got it basically right, just one thing; its the thoracic region. and yes it is safe to round, what you ned to avoid rounding is the lumbar region.
Why some of you guys don't understand just because he rounded his back it doesn't mean he LIFT WITH HIS BACK. It's more about the powerful glute muscle pushing forward.
@quadshow if you look there is no legs involved in this lift at all. meaning it's all back. I know half of its fucken back and half legs. I'm in school doing this stuff
@karasu46 Max efforts attepmt are not always pretty as long as they are in regs its a good lift. Lets see you hit half of that. Dont down the man when he can hit weights you cant.
@karasu46 if you did you'd know a rounded upper back is fine as long as you accustom your body to doing it. just like doing weighted back extensions and stiff legged dls. that and you're wrong about him not using legs at all. his knees don't lockout until the very end of the lift. you're either blind, or you have zero real experience with lifting and only know what you've been told.
@mikeymic12 Thats true,on the all powerlifting competitions i have been on,they just stick a couple of rammstein cd-s into the cd box, turn the volume all the way up and just set the whole thing on repeat.
One of the world's strongest powerlifters and he's not a fatass. Now that's inspirational!
I'm a Stan Efferding and a Konstaninov fan... I want Konstantinov to break the 1,000 pound raw deadlift barrier and Stan Efferding to squat 900 pounds raw!
Stupid question but this guy is strong as fuck obviously but he doesn't have enormous legs (well, they are enormous, but I've seen bigger). What's with that?
also, bally's, eliptical machines, wtf? 600 lbs would not bend the bar like it was made of rubber like that. i bet u never touched a weight over 200 lbs in youe life. diuchebag.
i can't believe a retard like dcureman is allowed near a computer. i m not latvian, but grew up in romania. most strongmen come from eastern europe and nordic/ icelandic countries. he couldn't even probably point where latvia was on a map, fuckin hillbilly. this is a world renown lifter, not some dude in a garage posting his lame video on youtube, like probably you are. and u have never probably seen metric system weights before, which, btw, r standard in international competitions.
thats such bad form, hes gonna hurt himself and be no good to anyone, trust me im a high level personal trainer and have seen it all. terrible form, im surprised no one stopped him from being such a fool at a tourny
@dcureman123 fuck the shit you are saying he is lifting like this 25 years now, heavy ass weights, has the 3rd best deadlift EVER, best deadlift completely RAW(no belt), and best total in RAW at his weight class... so you cant tell him SHIT about his form...just applause and shut the fuck up...
@skata123456789456123 dude his stats dont impress me, but his form concerns me. i know what im talking about and this guy is definalty not even close to the best around, lifting like that you will never achieve full strenght, and as far as it being 948....i counted maybe 600 pounds. which is impressive for an average guy who has no training (judging by his form) but professional lifts are a whole new level and 600 is just a warmup for us.
@Cambria2007 dude ive been working at Ballys for like 4 months trust me i know all about working out and deadlifts and his form is wrong, hes the clueless one. I hand out my personal invitation to him to come down to any ballys in the nation for a 1 month free trial and any trainer we have can fix his form and get him on some proper weight for his size.
@dcureman123 Lol, I get it now. You are playing dumb so you will get people to comment. The 4 months at Bally's was kinda over doing it, and gave it away.
@dcureman123 you are an effing idiot - you think that because you have been working at Ballys for 4 months you know something about lifting? You don't know shit if you are really seriously doubting KKs deadlift form and weight.
@dcureman123 yo read evey1's comments about u u dumb cunt!!!!!!!!!!!!
That form he uses works for him and if you think that the weight is only 600 then you are a stupid blind fuck as well! Most people who reckon their personal trainers aren't shit in my opnion only those people that actually lift the heavyweights walk the walk, u just talk the talk! so just for ur dumb ass comments! i must say die die die die die die die and curse u for all of eternity!!! oh yeah and die die die die die die die
@batisa2000 its only 600, i can tell i work at ballys im around weights all day. and no i will not "die die die", i get free acess to their many many eliptical machines i am in prime health thanks to the great quality equipment at ballys total fitness (locations nationwide) so will continue to live in excellent health. and on a side note just incase anyones curious we do offer free thats right FREE one month trial memberships, I dare you not to join after the healthiest month of your LIFE
@kasparsbla no sir you are mistaken. If you were around plates all day like i am you would know and be able to spot it easily. Believe me i surround myself with serious lifters all day long, this guy is kinda slumming it on how much weight he is lifting for his size and his form is terrible. Anyone looking to get their deadlift up? or just improve overall physique? ballys free one month membership, i DARE you not to say yes.
@dcureman123 dude, I live in latvia,I know what the guy in backround is saying, I have seen him in action and I know that he's lifting 430kg, seriously, learn how to count!
about plates, in latvia, we dont have eleiko plates & shit, we use old ghetto plates :D
so the green ones are 50kg and there are 6 of them, soo already IT CAN'T BE 600 POUNDS AND THERE ARE 430KG,SO DEAL WITH IT!
@kasparsbla dude seriously you live in latvia who are you to try and debate? now i feel bad for you, latvias obviously a third world country, probably not much clean water. So how could you possible know about weight plates? the only thing you guys know about is losing weight due to famine and disease. Just be cool and accept that its 600. I tell you what maybe i can try to get ballys to do a fund raiser for the impoverished people of latvia. if i get 10000 likes, we'll make it happn captn
@dcureman123 who am I, I am much more then you'll ever be! And you dont have to feel shit about us, cause Latvia isn't a third world country and you don't know a shit about geografy, our contry is much cleaner than usa, our watter is much cleaner than your's too so next time you want to talk about latvia, atleast learn about you'r contry first! As far as weights and deadlifting goes, now I can see, thet you are a stupid kid and you already know that you faild, bet just don't want to admit that!
@kasparsbla umm geografy? watter? contry? your country is obviously third world and deprived of basic education. Dont worry ballys will raise the money to raise your IQ past 65. You little latvian retards dont fret one bit, we will run a massive fundraiser and pull you out of poverty. And maybe one day we will even get you real weights so you will be able to tell the difference between 600 and 900 pounds. Dont worry my little latvian moron, i will get you into a special ed school.
@dcureman123 I'm smarter than you, and that's for shore, just scroll down and you will see, that you are the only moron, that think's ,there is 600pounds,and everybody think's that you are stupid.... and as I said before, if you just point your half-blind eyes and just see, that there are 3 big green plates in eatch side and 1 green plate wheys 50kg that is 110.2 pounds, you'll see, that your wrong!
just look at Konstantin Konstantinov videos, he's a deadlifting machine and can do over 900pound
@dcureman123 IQ?education? hahah don't make me laugh, you people can't even locate your own contry on the map, you don't even know how many sides does a triangle have or the name of your contry LOL!
@dcureman123 don't get me wrong, I like USA, and probably will wisit it, but USA isn't the cleanest country you know, and us, smaller country's arent that powerfull, but our landscapes are much cleaner and livelier!
@dcureman123 I love how you think its 600 since you clearly don't understand these are olympic (metric) plates, therefore not weighed in lbs. This is a 430kg official deadlift, and nobody in their right mind wants to come get a gayass membership at your Bally's fitness center (lets be honest, Bally's is not a gym). So just go away, delete your account, and save us serious lifters the comment space. thank you
@phiten40 yea i was counting in metrics i know all different types of weight levels and i can easily spot the weight, im sure you guys are fooled by it but thats because not alot of you are serious lifters at a competitive level. And as for Ballys not being a gym?? Really? Do you know we can almost GUARENTEE a significant loss in overall body fat within 2 weeks. Now since we do offer one month free trials (offers not available in the state of nevada or florida) how can you turn down the chance?
@dcureman123 not to burst you bubble, but I happen to live in florida and why the hell would any serious lifter want to lose weight? You have made several of the most asinine comments I have ever seen. They dont even have deadlift platforms in a Bally's so boo hoo Mr. Whiney
@dcureman123 you are an effing idiot - you think that because you have been working at Ballys for 4 months you know something about lifting? You don't know shit if you are really seriously doubting KKs deadlift form and weight.
Why do people who can't even pull 585 critique a man who pulls 948 pounds? If you read any interviews from Konstantinovs you would know before he switched to this form he couldn't pull 750. After he switched know hes pulling 948.
@HappyDaze01 Those bars are tested in machines that put far more pressure on them than any man will ever dead lift, and if they don't spring back when released from the machine, they're rejected. That's what they do at Eleiko, the Swedish manufacturer.
Also, when you're watching a competition deadlift you have to keep a few things in mind as well. It's often done at the end of an event, the lifter will be tired and aching from the squat and the bench. If he's got a shot at a medal or a record the mind might also be wanting a tad more than the body is up for. In other words, they're pushing it to the fucking limit and when you're doing that, form might not always be picture perfect.
The textbook deadlift form is very safe and it works fairly well for just about everyone, that's why that's the form that is taught when people start deadlifting. However, that doesn't mean that it's optimal for all lifters and all bodytypes. The lifters that you see in these movies - Konstantin, Benni, Bolton etc - have had a long time developing their form to something that is perfect for them. That's why it might differ slightly from the so called norm.
It is amazing to me that so many people are looking for errors in this guy's lifting. If there are any errors I'm not seeing them because I'm too busy trying to figure out what he's doing right. Quite frankly, so should you all be because there are a LOT of rights going on here.
aarrhhhhggggg PEOPLE stop trying to critique.... KK IS A MONSTER. You are privileged to watch a vid of him lifting.... You dont get to comment on rounded back, where he looks or his foot position... all your required to do is nod along in agreement of his awesomeness.
actually, if you pay closer attention, he does keep his lumbar sping in the correct position. rounding your kyphotic spine is OK and is actually what you are supposed to do to improve your body position off the floor.
more specifically, rounding the upper kyphotic spine allows you to open your hip angle at the bottom. this is actually better for the lumbar spine since you reduce the shearing forces and replace them with compressive forces.
How can you speak about technique??? Look at who's on the video, it's Konstantinov for Christ sake! Just look at his Raw lifting videos, he's a beast!
That is what is so impresswive about him. He makes those pulls with bull strength. In deadlifting the best way is to keep the head up. This keeps the back straight not rounded. Rounding in deadlift or squat is never wanted. This leads to back injuries. Incidentally if you think I am wrong, I am a powerlifting coach, trainer, 3 time national champion.
@Senseial I'm kinda sure KK knows how to deadlift better than you. Upper back rounding (which is what he does) is inevitable when deadlifting at your max. The fact you have to try to bully someone into believing your right with the 'i am a powerlifting coach, trainer etc' kind of discredits your claims.
and seriously in the words of Jim Wendler "It doesn't fucking matter where you look, just lift the fucking weight"
I forwarded your reply to me to 2 other veteran lifters one of whom was a world champ. Also showed it to a powerlifting coach and competitive lifter going to world masters. Rounding of the back is because the butt is coming up too soon. All rounding does is build up injury potential. Watch Brad Gillingham, or better yet
Dave Ricks deadlift. Backs are straight .
Also I am a 3 time USAPL national champion so our view of me personally means nothing.
Im confused. Somone help me. Some that compete bend their knees all the way and uses their legs alot more. This guy (obviously very good) does use very little legs, and alot of back. How should it be done? With more legs, or like this guy are doing it?
This guy's strength is insane. He is much thinner than other guys that lift less than him and he's much taller than most lifters so he has to lift the weight a further distance. Just insane!
Now let's watch the 135 lb deadlifters with perfectly arched back and low hips instruct this guy on the proper way to perform a deadlift. This should be fun.
Basic rule governing the REAL world: if you can lift monster weights with inefficient technique, then you are even MORE of a !@#$%^ beast.
I'm pretty sure he knows exactly how to maximize his lift with his posture. His lower back is straight but his shoulders are pushed downwards to decrease his lift distance.
It's definitely not "inefficient".
You don't become the best powerlifter in the world with inefficient technique.
He's clearly an astonishing lifter, but seriously, the most impressive thing is the motherfucking lockout. Most every powerlifter has the most useless attempt at finishing a deadlift, but KK does some of the most legit locks I've ever seen.
the thoracic mobility on this guy is amazing! his lower back is so flat, but the way his thoracic spine is most people would thing he's got a rounded back.
How did they manage to crossbreed a forklift and a human exactly?

@kasparsbla no sir you are mistaken. If you were around plates all day like i am you would know and be able to spot it easily. Believe me i surround myself with serious lifters all day long, this guy is kinda slumming it on how much weight he is lifting for his size and his form is terrible. Anyone looking to get their deadlift up? or just improve overall physique? ballys free one month membership, i DARE you not to say yes.
dcureman123 1 year ago
@dcureman123 dude, I live in latvia,I know what the guy in backround is saying, I have seen him in action and I know that he's lifting 430kg, seriously, learn how to count!
about plates, in latvia, we dont have eleiko plates & shit, we use old ghetto plates :D
so the green ones are 50kg and there are 6 of them, soo already IT CAN'T BE 600 POUNDS AND THERE ARE 430KG,SO DEAL WITH IT!
kasparsbla 1 year ago

As far as weights and deadlifting goes, now I can see, thet you are a stupid kid and you already know that you faild, bet just don't want to admit that!
kasparsbla 1 year ago
@kasparsbla umm geografy? watter? contry? your country is obviously third world and deprived of basic education. Dont worry ballys will raise the money to raise your IQ past 65. You little latvian retards dont fret one bit, we will run a massive fundraiser and pull you out of poverty. And maybe one day we will even get you real weights so you will be able to tell the difference between 600 and 900 pounds. Dont worry my little latvian moron, i will get you into a special ed school.
dcureman123 1 year ago

@dcureman123 And if you'r saying that there are 600pounds, then look at this video-
write in youtube ------> Deadlitt 380kg-4 reps Raw,no belt
hes deadlifting 837 pounds like nothing!
kasparsbla 1 year ago
@dcureman123 I love how you think its 600 since you clearly don't understand these are olympic (metric) plates, therefore not weighed in lbs. This is a 430kg official deadlift, and nobody in their right mind wants to come get a gayass membership at your Bally's fitness center (lets be honest, Bally's is not a gym). So just go away, delete your account, and save us serious lifters the comment space. thank you
phiten40 1 year ago
@phiten40 yea i was counting in metrics i know all different types of weight levels and i can easily spot the weight, im sure you guys are fooled by it but thats because not alot of you are serious lifters at a competitive level. And as for Ballys not being a gym?? Really? Do you know we can almost GUARENTEE a significant loss in overall body fat within 2 weeks. Now since we do offer one month free trials (offers not available in the state of nevada or florida) how can you turn down the chance?
dcureman123 1 year ago
@dcureman123 not to burst you bubble, but I happen to live in florida and why the hell would any serious lifter want to lose weight? You have made several of the most asinine comments I have ever seen. They dont even have deadlift platforms in a Bally's so boo hoo Mr. Whiney

Why do people who can't even pull 585 critique a man who pulls 948 pounds? If you read any interviews from Konstantinovs you would know before he switched to this form he couldn't pull 750. After he switched know hes pulling 948.

why do most ppl use the Olympic bar when they can use the hex trap bar???
joustinApe 1 year ago
@IIrond He is saying his spine hurt when doing deadlifts :P
udiptathakur 1 year ago
Just how much weight could be put on a bar before it just snaps? That last one bent the bar so much.
HappyDaze01 1 year ago
@HappyDaze01 Those bars are tested in machines that put far more pressure on them than any man will ever dead lift, and if they don't spring back when released from the machine, they're rejected. That's what they do at Eleiko, the Swedish manufacturer.
amarone1956 1 year ago
damn, watch his knees quiver at 0:55
Orangeshirt211 1 year ago
Also, when you're watching a competition deadlift you have to keep a few things in mind as well. It's often done at the end of an event, the lifter will be tired and aching from the squat and the bench. If he's got a shot at a medal or a record the mind might also be wanting a tad more than the body is up for. In other words, they're pushing it to the fucking limit and when you're doing that, form might not always be picture perfect.
Wraithdegothia 1 year ago
To elaborate a little on technique:
The textbook deadlift form is very safe and it works fairly well for just about everyone, that's why that's the form that is taught when people start deadlifting. However, that doesn't mean that it's optimal for all lifters and all bodytypes. The lifters that you see in these movies - Konstantin, Benni, Bolton etc - have had a long time developing their form to something that is perfect for them. That's why it might differ slightly from the so called norm.
Wraithdegothia 1 year ago
It is amazing to me that so many people are looking for errors in this guy's lifting. If there are any errors I'm not seeing them because I'm too busy trying to figure out what he's doing right. Quite frankly, so should you all be because there are a LOT of rights going on here.

Yeah that is terrible for your back to round it like that. I'm suprised he hasn't Fucked his back up
charvelman123 1 year ago
@charvelman123
actually, if you pay closer attention, he does keep his lumbar sping in the correct position. rounding your kyphotic spine is OK and is actually what you are supposed to do to improve your body position off the floor.
i3igpete 1 year ago
@charvelman123
more specifically, rounding the upper kyphotic spine allows you to open your hip angle at the bottom. this is actually better for the lumbar spine since you reduce the shearing forces and replace them with compressive forces.
i3igpete 1 year ago 3
@i3igpete someone knows what he's talking about

nah mate never hey i got good idea prove me wrong go do your deadlifts looking down for your hole life see what hapens
sicko1994 1 year ago
Looking up might help keeping back straight, but it doesnt work for all lifters. Looking down doesnt ruin your back.
ose51 1 year ago 2
@ose51
Senseial 1 year ago
@Senseial I'm kinda sure KK knows how to deadlift better than you. Upper back rounding (which is what he does) is inevitable when deadlifting at your max. The fact you have to try to bully someone into believing your right with the 'i am a powerlifting coach, trainer etc' kind of discredits your claims.
and seriously in the words of Jim Wendler "It doesn't fucking matter where you look, just lift the fucking weight"
Izixster 1 year ago
@Izixster

This guy's strength is insane. He is much thinner than other guys that lift less than him and he's much taller than most lifters so he has to lift the weight a further distance. Just insane!
jrb752 2 years ago 3
Now let's watch the 135 lb deadlifters with perfectly arched back and low hips instruct this guy on the proper way to perform a deadlift. This should be fun.
Basic rule governing the REAL world: if you can lift monster weights with inefficient technique, then you are even MORE of a !@#$%^ beast.
GeorgeDedaj 2 years ago 3
I'm pretty sure he knows exactly how to maximize his lift with his posture. His lower back is straight but his shoulders are pushed downwards to decrease his lift distance.
It's definitely not "inefficient".
You don't become the best powerlifter in the world with inefficient technique.
