@vjlord applications>settings>scroll down to "About phone"> firmware version will tell you the number of the OS installed on your devise (the newest official OS for Galaxy s is 2.3.6, if its 2.2 than download Samsung Kies and update the software). Hope I helped.

Ugh I had a samsung galaxy S it was horrible!!! I had 1 hour of battery time ( it was like tht when I got it) the wifi kept shutting off, and no matter what we did the phone bill was 300$ and I kept having to shut it down -_- and before I get replys let me say these problems first started when I got it, I did nothing to it, thx god I have an iPhone now and soon an iPad 2 :D

@lord01w I would consider the Galaxy S II. It has a 4.5 inch screen, a 1.2 GHz processor, and if you have T-Mobile 1.5. Whereas the iPhone 4S has a 3.5 inch display and a 1 GHz processor. So you can pay the same price for the iPhone or the Galaxy S II which is the obvious choice.
