  • The plan needs more than two months to work. It took Bush almost eight years to plunge this country into this mess; give the President at least a little more than two months to fix it.

If you want to protest, fine, thats your Constitutional right, but stop lying and saying its a tea party. Its a partisan political rally.

  • This is hardly a political rally! I voted for Ross Perot in 92 and Bill Clinton in 96. I have voted for local Democrat as well as Republican candidates. Just the fact that the cigarette tax has been raised to over $1 per pack is enough to show that this "middle income tax cut" is a sham. Our local paper (a liberal bastion if ever there was one) quoted statistics that low and middle income taxpayers (up to $70,000 annual income) have 3 to 4 times the number of smokers than the "rich".

  • It most certainly is a political rally. I think the cigarette tax should be much higher, and that ridiculous argument that only middle class and low-income people smoke is the only sham. There are rich idiots who smoke too.

  • Read my reply, dummy. I did not say that ONLY low & middle income Americans smoke. Get your partisan head out of your "sand".

  • I know exactly what you said. You want to play word games because you are wrong on the facts. We shouldnt tax cigarettes because middle and low-income people do most of the smoking? What a ridiculous argument. Bushs excessive spending was on a war in Iraq and on rebuilding Iraq, where never should have been in the first place. That useless war, coupled with tax breaks for the richest 1 percent, created the deficit from a surplus.

  • A clear thinker would ask for the facts, not dismiss them blindly. Cool down, sonny, and have some more kool-aid.

  • The Presidents plan was no secret, so your ridiculous claim that many of the ones that did vote for change & now see the out of control bankrupting of America by our Government, wish they had known of these specific plans. holds no water. People knew the near depression and huge budget deficit that Bush left this country in would take extraordinary action by the President to fix it.

  • "The Presidents plan was no secret"?? I don't remember anything during the campaign about tripling the size of the deficit! We were not AND ARE NOT near a depression. Bush's deficit is NOTHING compared to what the CBO (don't tell me the CBO is partisan) says the next 10 years will look like based on Obama's out of control spending. You can not spend your way out of a recession (that is what we have) and you can't borrow your way out of debt (that is what is being tried).

  • That is correct; the presidents plan was no secret. You cant spend your way out of a recession? Then how do you get out of a depression? Tax cuts? Give me a break. Why were you not up in arms over Bushs record deficit?

  • Bush's mistake was that his no longer record deficit was a result of excess spending. Who says I was not up in arms over it? You? Wow, what a friggin' budget expert you are.

  • What a crock. If you wanted to change things, you should have done it on Nov. 4 not on April 15. By the way, the politicians are the people because the people voted for them. If you want to take the country back do it in November. We the people spoke loud and clear on November 4. Where were you?

  • 42 million Americans (including myself) did not vote for this change. I guarantee that many of the ones that did vote for change & now see the out of control bankrupting of America by our Government, wish they had known of these specific plans. Now that Obama is President, we must face reality, make our voices heard, and do everything we can (including voting out the scoundrels who supported Obama's plans). It does no good to dwell on the past, except to learn for the future.

  • Sorry, but you had a chance to make your voice heard in November. We live in a representative democracy. If you want your little tea party to work you need to move to a third world county where you can pull off a coup.

  • I'll vote 'yes' to tax... Congresses wages at 90%

All those in favor... say " I ".
