My take on it has always been that you SRP guys are going for a rolls royce and are spending large sums of time (hours & hours) and money on top of the line hones, razors, strops etc. Murry's style is "everyday man" striving for a new pick-up truck. Murray does everything for sharpening as quickly and economically as possible and I believe he is a true master at that. Thank you for at least giving him the benefit of the doubt and actually trying his technique. It shows your character to be good.
@jedirifleman I'm not an SRP guy, quite the opposite actually. That said, this technique works, but isn't nearly as comfortable as my regular honing method. But we decided to try instead of behaving like an "arm chair expert". Thanks for watching the video!
@levellersspekkie I apologize for assuming you were an SRP guy. (I guess I was hoping Murray reached one or two of them ) They were creating quite a closed minded buzz there for awhile. Sorry.
@levellersspekkie For sensative skinned people I wouldnt think it would be as smooth just for the fact of time and effort spent. People with tough skin seem to be blessed with the ability to get a perfect shave this way though. I also think time invested over the years in this technique, and perfecting of the technique as well as blade quality will play a big role in the final results. If you were to adopt this sharpening technique for say a year you would improve your edge even more.
