The ideal food for orphaned mice is kitten milk with a little rice baby cereal mixed into it. I just successfully raised a litter of 5 baby's on this and all survived. I used a small milk lid cover to feed them from. This will work if they are at least 5 or so days old.
My parents think I'm crazy when I catch mice and take care of them when they try to kill them. I let them go when they're less freaked out. What a cuuuuuuuuutie. Sad story though...
Omg we have an orphaned deer mouse too!!! And we don't know what sex it is either. We are feeding ours puppy formula...how do you get it to eat baby cereal?
You have to wait till about 3 to 4 weeks of age when they can stand on their own, as in this video she could not stand alone she had a deformity and needed some help.
it was abondond for a reason. but even so you gave the fella the best of what he had left. its better then nothing . at least he as a living organism got what was felt to be fed and mabe loved and taken care off by his gaurdian
Yes the reason was the man who owned the shed went in and did not know they were there until he saw her running away :( He did try first and left for a good while but checked back(a day later) and the mom left two there and never went back. Most likely she only took what she could carry. All the same we did try are best :)
@Ikickhardcoreass Old comment but well said. If more people thought like you this would be a happier, more compassionate world. Shit you made me well up.
long story but someone was giving a orphaned Baby deer mouse that he found in his shed. he scared the mom away by accident and she left but did come back for 2 babies(there was 4 babies) and never came back for the other 2 one passed away(not with me, with the man who found them) and this is the other one :) i forgot to add in the title that he is a deer mouse.

Are you sure you're supposed to feed him baby cereal? Somehow I don't think it's part of their natural food source.
