I really do not like any of your guns except for this one. You should review more reliable guns because a majority of your guns are pieces of urine molecules. But its okay, i will cut you old guys some slack by just trashing this video with one comment.
I once had a gun shop salesman tell me that rust on a kimber barrel was "just a patina". Apparently the Kimber rep had told the guy that and he bought it. Just goes to show you not everyone is privy to the same knowledge
Liked your favorite western picks. Like Tombstone, but don't like the way actors did their shooting...jerking their guns the way they did. I shoot a Peacemaker once in a blue moon so I know they don't jump around that much, but still one of my western keepers. Take care.
I am with you silverado superb tribute to the western movie. great photography, great stories rolled into one. unforgiven..Clint Eastwood need i say more!!!
Hello Hickock.first time for me hearing your broadcast like this.I did skip ahead some. Always enjoy your shooting videos from that awesome compound you have. As for all the movies, for me they all have one very important thing in common.good old values and morals. Peace,Carl Sr. in Navarre Fl.

The Good, Bad and The Ugly is my all time faverit Western Movie. In my oppion the best movie Clint Eastwood ever did. Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallec where great in that movie.
hello sir Hickok45, i was thinking on buying a glock30 .45 and can you give me your expert opinion..is it a good gun to purchase!! how much do you know about it! please i need your help :-) thank you sir..Have a great day!
True grit was one of the best westerns I've ever seen, I don't know it just really fit me perfectly, and I was in such a perfect mood for the movie when I watched it in the cinema.
I saw the dealer invoice for a Mini 14 223, His cost was $509 (I paid $699). So anything after the $509 mark is going towards retail. By the way, the Mini is a great rifle. My kid was hitting a good grouping on an 18x18 inch target at 100 yards with NO scope. Heck, even I had good fortune with it. I liked the wood stock as it has a about 1/2 inch of extra length to the butt. I have Ruger magazines for 20 and 30 rounds. NO jamming whatsoever...
I actually listened yesterday and it was nice to actually listen to the show on the day it was uploaded. As to westerns pretty much anything with Clint Eastwood he gave serious gravitas to the cowboy roles imo.
Great commentary on gun shops, Hickock. I manage a successful car dealership. We operate by a rather ethical philosophy I think, giving accurate advice based on wants and needs, as well as our own expertise. We, as do most high-quality retailers, try our best to match the customer with the right vehicle for them. Certainly profit margins change based on desirability, rarity and age of inventory, but we don't try to push the wrong car on a customer. I would hope a good gun shop does the same.
i have to agree with all your movie favorites....especially The Shootist, awesome movie- love the scene where he teaches Ron Howard how to shoot.
what edge4006 said about spiffs is right...but my experience was with selling tires-if I got a 10-15 dollar spiff for NTW brand tires well they were the best that day...hate to say it though
Hey there Hickok. Way off topic, but i've gotta question for ya.
Im in the market for a good .45 for concealed carry. Would you rather carry the Glock 30 or Glock 36... or any other suggestion? By the way I enjoy your videos and appreciate what you do for the ever growing gun community!!
@TheIrishCanuck that is truely a movie to own.. i ordered it and it had a second documentry type disc...it being 1911 month yr Alvin York used the 1911 in his quest to the medel of honor...
i was thinking about buying a GLOCK30 SF .45 what is your expert opinion on this gun ,is it a good handgun? please let me know, thnx so much, great videos

i wish i was proud to be from california.the biggest anti gun state! booooooooo! im jelouse of your hi cap mags and your barrels shorter than 16" and larger calibers and all the guns that are not on the california list :( good show hickok
Best Western Movies... Unforgiven,Two Mules for Sister Sarah, Shane, The Man with no Name series, The Proposition, 3:10 to Yuma (old and new vers), True Grit (original), Anything with Eastwood or Wayne...
Favorite Westerns: Silverado, The Searchers, Tombstone, Rio Bravo, True Grit (the original), Unforgiven, The Gunfighter, The Shootist, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Magnificent Seven and of course, the best one of all, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
Those are my favorites, but give me anything with Eastwood or The Duke.
Seems no one ever mentions Silverado, was a good movie back in the 80's. Came along when not many westerns had been made in several years. Duval...wow what an actor, Ben Johnson was a good supporting actor, he helped make alot of great westerns. Unforgiven, the wild bunch, butch & sundance, on and on...
Great show Hickock; your list of favorite movies is almost identical to mine. On the subject of advising beginning/aspiring shooters; best thing to do is to visit a range. Some ranges have rental guns available and there are usually folks around who are knowledgeable and willing to help with questions about fundamentals etc. Shoot it before you buy it is best advise I can think of.
@jamessosa100 I just had this decision and chose the 4th gen Glock. To me, the grip was a little bit better without adding something like the Talon grip tape. I say you should go somewhere that will allow you to handle both of them and make a decision on which one feels the best to you.
Flintlock. And I DID buy some ammo and get to go shooting this week! It'd been so long I've started to lose my "shooter's shoulder". Those slugs were beatin' me up. I NEVER want to go months without shooting again. Still diggin' the radio show.
Some products have spiffs. Spiffs are salesperson incentives to sale a particular product. When I sold electronics, if Hitachi had a 20$ spiff, I sold Hitachi all day and every other brand was not as good aslong as the spiff was in effect.
im hardcore! u gonna have a mental meltdown im sure its already screaming to much info! you forgot blazing saddles and two mules for sister sarah he is right about putting your hands on it i wanted a glock until i held one lol gotta be a flinchlock lol
You take notes while driving that all terrain smart car? I wonder if you have a tactical notepad stand built inside the cabin, close to the terrain response controls in that beast.
Yep, gun store clerks, just like sales persons at any store, are usually a) unknowledgeable in guns, or latest offerings, b) cognitively, or economically biased to one brand over the other.
I totally agree, if your looking for a gun, make sure it fits your hand for proper excecution before acquiring.
i mean, i love his videos, but i dont know everything about english, so, either i drink my good coffe whatchin he shooting targets, or I pay attention to his great worlds
There you go burstin peoples bubbles. Gun stores across America are cringing at Hickocks philosophy. Every store I go into tries to push their marketing hype and couldn't answer a question honestly if it was their job. Thanks for sharing.
The trick to the gun action of the week is to pay attention to all the details. It has to be a flintlock musket or rifle of some kind. Notice how he didnt want to pull the trigger, probably because he didnt want sparks flying around his reloading room (for obvious reasons). Not to brag or anything but i got last weeks gun action correct with the Mauser 98, and am really excited :D
no dont skip weeks even if its is 1 thing make it 10 mins or 15 or 60 mins chats about a few things any thing about guns and gun laws or what you are doing i love the show.
The best advice you've given; feel it, hold it, make sure it fits your hand etc.prior to buying. Range test one if possible for recoil, weight, accuracy etc. Regardless what the salesman tells you, the best gun for you is the one you shoot the best < UNLESS you just collect firearms.
Every sunday, when I listen to your radio episodes, something supernatural just pushes me to take my pistols out to take a look at em and if needed clean them, that just makes them so happy.
@cavu79 "All right, I'm coming out. Any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him. Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife, all his friends, and burn his damn house down." ;]
Some gun store clerks are just spectacularly uninformed. I once had a clerk spend twenty minutes trying to tell me that condition 2 (hammer down on a live cartridge) was the only safe way to carry a 1911.
I have an M1911 A1. How do you lower the hammer on a live round with a 1911A1. Seems really unsafe to make this a common practice. Only takes one slip of the thumb.
I am listening to Hickok45 radio while reading about carry laws across the US!

I am guessing some sort of break action rifle or shotgun.

The best advice you've given; feel it, hold it, make sure it fits your hand etc.prior to buying. Range test one if possible for recoil, weight, accuracy etc. Regardless what the salesman tells you, the best gun for you is the one you shoot the best < UNLESS you just collect firearms.

I work at a gun shop and I'm not a fan of Glocks at all.
I hate the grip angel, they're clumsy and blocky.
But those things are subjective and will not seem the same to everyone.
Glocks are good reliable guns and anyone who says otherwise is just wrong.
There are many different guns on the market for a good reason, no one model will work for everyone.
A gun shop employee who tries to sale you anything other than the best gun for you is in the wrong line of work.

My guns love your show.
Every sunday, when I listen to your radio episodes, something supernatural just pushes me to take my pistols out to take a look at em and if needed clean them, that just makes them so happy.
They thank you.

Some gun store clerks are just spectacularly uninformed. I once had a clerk spend twenty minutes trying to tell me that condition 2 (hammer down on a live cartridge) was the only safe way to carry a 1911.
huguenot67 11 months ago
@huguenot67 ??? No way.
I have an M1911 A1. How do you lower the hammer on a live round with a 1911A1. Seems really unsafe to make this a common practice. Only takes one slip of the thumb.
