@MyMedicinalReality Agreed, the whole final fight should include the parts when Lio was slashing Shiki. The novels said that Shiki actually had a hard time keeping up with Lio in that scene, she basically just took advantage of the close space between them when Lio was finally gonna kill her which is why she was able to take him down in one go (before collapsing). Kara no Kyoukai was originally a light novel series before it was adapted into an anime film series. =D

@CYUNME The blonde one (Lio) is a stalker and a killer. He basically styled himself to try and copy the way the girl (Shiki) dresses herself (red jacket, kimono) to get her attention (as to why he wants to do that.......it's pretty damn complicated).

@BlueCatzi Ah you mean Kokuto? Kokuto is basically Shiki's boyfriend. Well they married sometime later. Thing is, Kokuto is sort of the person who doesn't like murder and stuff... Because of that... Well he did make a retarded decision when it came to the Asagami case.

@BlueCatzi You have to realize though that the reason that Kokuto said "I won't forgive you" wasn't because he cared about Lio (well he did, but he gave up afterwards) but it's the fact that he didn't want Shiki to turn herself into a murderer (she was actually willing to throw her life away and never come back after killing Lio). If anything, Kokuto stopped Shiki from ever actually becoming a murderer, especially considering that she was innocent all along.

@pavlo666lost I'd say that the main villain Araya Souren, while Lio is more Shiki's 'anti' (as in he's the Anti-Shiki).

It's like Araya is the villain of all, while Lio is primarily Shiki's "personal villain".

For anyone wondering what Lio was doing in the final part (not shown here for some reason), he was actually injuring Shiki's limbs one by one like an animal until finally going for her neck. If you've read the novel, Shiki was actually feeling a hell of amount of pain in the final fight and it didn't help that she still felt the effects of the drugs, it's just not very obvious because she shows very little emotion in regards to the attacks.

@DemetedP Mind you, as great as the novels are, I wouldn't necessarily call it superior to the movies since they're completely different mediums. If anything I just treat the novels as extra knowledge. I absolutely love the KnK movies and I think they did great with Lio here especially since they actually added extra stuff like his body going weird under his clothes to show-off how he was really turning inhuman which was only hinted in the novels.

Is the reason he finally decides to actually kill her because she "betrayed" him? That's the reason he gave for killing Kokutou... well, poisoning Koku then giving him a wound that would kill a normal person... It's odd really, Kokutou is what let him be human so he kills him because Kokutou finally rejects him plainly. Shiki does the same which means both sides of himself have to die. He even stated he wanted Shiki to kill him, was his goal just one elaborate suicide?

@BoyKagome He literally lost his humanity when he 'killed' him. By then he was more like an animal so that's why to him it didn't matter in the end with Shiki. The only reason he wanted Shiki to kill him was so that someone would rid him of the thought of being guilty as a murderer since he couldn't accept it. His main goal was to actually get someone to become like him coz he can't handle the fact that he's become a murderer (contrary to what he's saying). Mail me if you have more questions. =D

@BoyKagome Also the reason he 'killed' Kokutou was because he couldn't handle the truth about him actually avoiding the responsibility of his crimes. It's why he keeps insisting that he's crazy since if he's crazy, then he shouldn't be responsible just like a person who's mentally ill despite actually recognizing his crimes. The poison part was just his way of trying to force Kokutou to become like him, he didn't actually want to kill him and that's why he broke down when he finally did.

For those of you who don't know how Lio became a psycopath, heres the story. Back in high school (once a normal boy), he was attracted to Shiki. So he casually asked her out on a date but she rejected him. Devastated and the fact that no one else thinks about him (except for Mikiya), he descended to madness, quitted school, and started killing and eating someone. Araya, who came across him, asked Lio if he wants to awaken his origin. Lio answered yes.
