The Bhagavatam specifically goes into this issue, because the exchange (swap) of the idealistic and deluded Brahmanas for the practical Kshatriyas signified the fear of the masses for the harsh reality of war and death (i.e. they went "soft" and "civilized"). Once these speculators of the soul became the top caste, degeneracy and the mixing of the castes (caste was now not physical but "spiritual"), and thus mediocrity began to define this civilization unto the level of abject primitive decay.
Instead of the non-dualism of the Vedantas (and related texts), many feel a "tingly feeling" running up their legs when they hear that the entire universe is somehow "inside of us" or "you and me we are all part of the same cosmic truth", etc. This type of selfless identification is in fact quite common in most cultures, but only when they separate from nature into their cities (zoos). The universe is in fact SEPARATING at a faster rate, not "uniting" into the big crunch of the utopians.
I think that the problematic is the opposite. Westerners (I am one) are obsessed with compulsively universalizing every single idea to the point of absurdity. Because we wish to explain away every single thing, as if we are indeed capable of such a task, we thus attempt to explain things by simplification. The easiest and most culturally gratifying way of achieving this is by claiming that "all is one" and that everything is somehow connected to each other. THIS is in fact what is misleading.
in the terms in which you describe it, you would seem to be saying that the left hand path is not so much a "path" as a technic towards the same end as the right way/path or means.
I have only been more intensely interested in the Left Hand Path for a little under a year, and I don't think I would be able to discuss it to nearly the depth you can take it, but this "soft-ass" Jason King is genuinely interesting, and pleasant to listen to. You make your points so lucidly.
@TheIchor Who, me? I thought about it. You and "corasahn" are getting rather old on the contradiction charge, though. But really, the point you brought to fore in the last few minutes of your video was actually addressed in mine. To me, this and the Superman/Hulk video were my way of burying the hatchet. I've never hated you, and my "love" has always been directed at the disappointment I felt regarding a specific incident wherein the Vision was broken. We'll carry on though . . .
Yeah, you. That sounds fine. Wasn't sure exactly where we were. Good to know the hatchet is buried. Wish I could go through life not disappointing people, but that just isn't in the cards. Hail Satan!
Compare CoC with ToS or any LHP-hopeful project/org. Directing systems complicate and can kill whatever antinomian lifeblood they may nurture. Yes, rigidity is, within systems, a call to rebellion. A LHP system REWARDS rebellion, rather than reacting to it with umbrage/expulsion.
Not cyclic, polar and recursive. LHP-based sees RHP as Yangwhite; RHP Yinblack. Both erroneously generalize. RHP is best for groups, LHP is best for individuals. Godhead, Deviltail. Cf. Luther, Whitehead.
@TheIchor - Agreed that *paths* can be, but the orientations or methods of the Left and Right Hands seem predisposed toward opposite ends of emphasis. The Wrong Way is not a system. The Right Way always becomes one.
I like to pause these videos before you get into it and define my views, then compare them to yours. My thoughts were LHP is independence and RHP is submission. After watching the video and thinking about it with your views and applying it to circumstances, something like making the Sinister Tarot is RHP (Dark Gods move through me) and an insight role is LHP (I move through the Dark Gods), just to use ONA actions as an example. Is this accurate to what you were saying?
@TheIchor - Is that like a choice between spaghetti and ravioli has to be made? No way to combine them, and forever more we must only eat one of these? I'm unsure how certain or enduring this choice must be. Details?
LHP and rhp the same as left and right wing politics? Interesting idea, but I don't agree with your mixture theory. Each comes at the issues from an opposing paradigm.
This rigid LHP/RHP classification is what I strive to work against (Antinomian?). Should a system become an absolute, whether by law or simply by human perception/misconception, that system either needs to be refined, or put down. In fact, you might also say the same for the humans who are falsely classifying! :P
@TheManiacalSatanist6 Ken, you are kinda right here dude. Indians wash their backsides with the left hand. And of course shit is not nice...though Aghoris will eat it. Ken, you could start by drinking your own piss.
@TheManiacalSatanist6 And Maniacal Satanists are people who have no jobs yet seem to think they have a firm grip on economics.
Seriously, Ken, if you spent just a fraction of your dedicated Troll-time to bettering yourself, you might actually be able to get off your haunches. Before you know it, you'll be 30 and in the same sorry-ass boat. CARPE DIEM!
@jason666king Jason, I've pwned your ass every time we've ever discussed economics, and you HAVE a job. What the fuck is wrong with this picture? Why the fuck is it that I know more than you do about certain things *economics* when my situation dictates that it should be the other way around?
And if you seriously think that there is such a thing as BETTERING YOURSELF, I rest my case. You're just fucking naive.
I think this is one of the best explanations of RHP/LHP, I have heard in years.. Though I personally see the two sides of the same coin analogy as erroneous, it suggests that like a coin; one side is different distinctly from the other.. What I see is the same drawing either inverted or upright.. Great video Mr. King!
There is an old expression I like for this.. There are many paths to the top of the mountain, but the view is always the same..
To answer you more simply.. If we are speaking of direction, perhaps they are opposed; they both wind upward and look to the sky...I suppose what direction you take on the path, depends specifically on where you get on it...
Doctrine of the Left Hand is a better term than LHP. LHP gives the idea that I'm going this way and he is going that way and never the twain shall meet.
I just got a new trans. of Miguel de Molinos. A cool heretic.

Excellent video, Mr. King. I appreciate that you broke it all down for it to be understood better by a layperson such as myself. Thank you.

would that be a fair restatement?

Paths can be group or individual based. I don't think the Cult of Cthulhu kills antinomian lifeblood.

Another useful perspective on LHP/RHP is qabalistic: LHP is inhibitory/analytical, RHP is exhibitory/experiential but both lead to godhead.
