Yes it takes 100% courage to be out there and Bravo to that. But in order for her to stay in the show (either because of favoritism/or worse pity) then someone else, who worked their butts off doing a more technically difficult routine will be sent home packing, and that isn't fair at all. But all the dancers have to know Heather will get the sympathy vote and yet they still go out there and dance competitively anyway, so Kuddos to that too.
Ok, I haven't been watching DWTS this season so I dunno how she's been doing overall, but going on this dance alone I have to say although I'm impressed at her willingness and ability to dance, and she did dance this well, there really wasn't a whole lot to it choreography-wise. The whole point of showing the public, American or otherwise, that an amputee can do amazing things with their prostheses would be to do the same technically difficult tasks and not be applauded for doing just anything.
What I don't get is Paul and Heather are British, why is she coming on an American show, when her PR campaign should start in her own country? If she wants people to love her then go to the people in your hometown first.

I never said any of these people were heroes. I only said that they are doing these things for themselves. I disagree that overcoming obstacles is unnecessary. When you reach an obstacle in your life don't you try to overcome it? A problem with your children, a friend, or a problem at work perhaps? In Britain it is still innocent until proven guilty. If Heather continues to campaign for good causes, i.e. against the horrific fur trade in savage China, then good for her. If, after getting a sizeable sum from Paul she ditches the whole "good causes" thing then I will be in the queue to break her windows! Until then I am hoping she has the integrity she appears up until now to have. At least she does not befriend monsters like the McCartney kids do (Madonna, Kate Moss, etc).

Yes it takes 100% courage to be out there and Bravo to that. But in order for her to stay in the show (either because of favoritism/or worse pity) then someone else, who worked their butts off doing a more technically difficult routine will be sent home packing, and that isn't fair at all. But all the dancers have to know Heather will get the sympathy vote and yet they still go out there and dance competitively anyway, so Kuddos to that too.

Ok, I haven't been watching DWTS this season so I dunno how she's been doing overall, but going on this dance alone I have to say although I'm impressed at her willingness and ability to dance, and she did dance this well, there really wasn't a whole lot to it choreography-wise. The whole point of showing the public, American or otherwise, that an amputee can do amazing things with their prostheses would be to do the same technically difficult tasks and not be applauded for doing just anything.
