Your trigger pull is a large source of your frustration. Slow it down. Make sure you are pulling straight back keeping your sites on target. When it fires it should almost be a surprise. (Capt, USMCR (Ret), Firearms Trainer).
You're doing the right thing--exercising your right to bear arms! In the notes in the future it would be helpful to others to mention something about the AR-15's upper and lower receiver brand.
Great Rifle!! Just picked one up. I have to say I really dont like Angeles Shooting Range. Too many rule. I like Lytle Creek, but you cant beat the Private Lanes at Burro Canyon.
South Korean all the women shoot M-16 like that how wonder Kim Jun Il not get mad and shoot missiles all around...(Just kidding) I'm from Vietnam, my country divided by 2 like yours but so bad luck , the communist win and took over the whole country, lesson to learn to KOREAN friend. Defense your country and do not let Communist have any of your land. Look Vietnam as your lessons.
This rifle looks almost identical to mine, only I don't have the magpul trigger guard. Mine is a CMMG cardinal marked upper and a CMMG lower. 14" barrel with pinned and welded vortex flash suppresor. Midwest Industries free float quad rail and Yankee Hill Machinery rear Back Up Iron Sight. Mine is also the 1/7 inch twist barrel, Looks like yours is exactly the same almost how does it shoot the 55 grain ammo?
@CharlieDoan Depends on what kind of loads you are using. If you are wanting to use. Heavier loads like out up to and past 75 grains then you will definitely want the 1/7. However if you are only wanting to use standard 55 grain grain stuff then 1/9 is perfect. 1/9 is the best plinking setup, 1/7 is better for hunting or long range.
i go to this range too, usually on sundays. i notice on some of your video's you pull the trigger pretty quick. try to relax your trigger finger and squeeze with the tip of your finger. squeeze, then slowly squeeze harder until you fire. quick movements usually throws off your aim.
@RDS5284 Typically I'll go that 1 mid-week day they open late, but it's really rare. I'm a weekend shooter as well. It takes me over 1 hour to get there!
After you aim center mass you will always hit center if you follow these instructions. Finally before you shoot position your body square to the target look through your sighs and position your body to were your natural point of aim is at the target. Then use all the fundamentals I showed you above and you will be good. it was not in order but use them all and you will be a expert shooter. I am a Marksmanship instructor in the Marines just to let you know.
The first thing that you do is aim your rifle towards the target in the most stable and comfortable position that you could. Look through the sights, when your see the target center that is your natural point of aim. I found that using the figure 8 method works best. Basically turn the 8 on its side and draw a figure 8 mith the front sight tip or bulls eye with the center being center mass. Make the figure 8's slow plus 5 squeeze the trigger center mass. Im stationed in 29palms.
There are a number of reasons that I seen. Trigger control stockwell eye relief and breathing. You have to practice trigger control slow and stady squeeze were your finger is most comfortable on the trigger. Breathing Breath in then out when you have that natural respirator pause slow and steady squeeze of the trigger. Get a chipmunk cheek on the stockwell. Close your non dominant eye and dont stare at the target focus on the front site tip and the target should get blurry aim center mass.
best tip i can give you over the internet, is to visualize your shot, keep your eyes open, pull the trigger and don't release the trigger forward until you know basically where you hit and if not at the intended spot, have a reason why the shot went astray.
wow, I wished there were more girls like you who enjoy shooting. You do look very steady when shooting. I think that you are holding your AR way up your shoulder and the recoil is going ever you, I suggest you support the rifle lower so you can control recoil, also, do not move your trigger finger while recoil. Hold trigger inwards while shooting. Regards
The best advice I could give you would be to slow down a bit. It's not a race and if you take your time on your shots your accuracy will increase. Also rapid firing any gun is a good way to warp the barrel.
Really good feedback. I've gained accustom to the rifle where I am more steady and slower on the trigger pull. You are absolutely right... NOW the real challenge is shooting handguns. I anticipate the shot so much it screws with my accuracy... plus it probably doesn't help firing a glock 37... 45 ... I'm really little.. I should have purchased a Kimber 1911 that has more weight to the frame.
With a handgun... hold the grip as high as you can, and hold it as tight as you can without shaking. Then focus solely on the front sight and slowly squeeze the round off. Concentrate less on when the gun will fire and more on the front sight and you'll do great!
@redsquirt47 You don't want to have a death grip on a handgun. You basically want to "hold" it with your left hand while keeping your right hand relaxed. Tension will make you less accurate.
For a petite female a big issue will be hitting too high because of recoil + a loose grip. I've seen it dozens of times.
Tension will only affect your accuracy if there's enough of it that you're becoming shaky. With a .45, you'll want enough tension to combat recoil but not so much you start to shake.
What's next? You want her to hold the gun as low as she can and focus on how bad the recoil's going to be? Give me a break...
@bcoyote I really appreciate that. I haven't logged onto my account for some time. It's really nice to have positive feedback... especially from the internet. LOL!
I absolutely loved it. You should go to your local range and rent some different firearms. I actually went to Vegas and the first firearm I shot was a M249 SAW... that thing was AWESOME!!! Las Vegas... Gun Store.
