  • Actually, the most dominate sound, especially in the beginning of the video, is the ''common true katydid'

  • The predominant sound here is made by katydids, which are insects very similar to grasshoppers.

  • what the other sound in the back round? i hear it like toward the end of the summer here mostly.wow is that a train? sounds alot different then up here.

  • @RavishingRedheadd Yes, it's the train, although it's miles away.

  • @SquirrelOnRoad but what else are those sounds? all are different frogs? that certain sound i heard towards the end of summer was a certain insect i thought

  • @RavishingRedheadd Hmm, tree frogs - not sure the species, crickets, insects.... whatever is outside in the dark in August ;)

  • Reminds me off summer in South Texas and Northern Mexico. Here, you here crickets, frogs, and the occasional train horn in the distance.

  • You're welcome! Or the days when you could leave window open and not worry about mosquitos carrying West Nile coming in either.

  • I love the sound of frogs and crickets. Takes me back to when I was young, and you could leave your windows open without fear of some stranger climbing in. The sound is so peaceful, and soothing. Thanks!
