@mattwildchild true temperament frets, they are used to improve the intonation on guitars, making your chords sound just perfect, guys like Mattias here use them aswell as a certain mister Steve Vai, personally i dont deem it necessary, however it does sound incredibly nice with these frets, but a simpler solution is to tune your guitar differently ie. Eb Standard i use mostly.

Its all down to preference of course, another thing to note is that getting a slap harmonic can be trickier =]
