I'm really getting sick of people singing Pop and saying its the best and it comes from the heart, music these days comes from a computer..Pink floyd comes from the heart, I love you David Gilmour!
The best thing about David Gilmour is that every time I see a different video or version of this song, Im totally mesmerized by the solo and I love the anticipation of not knowing exactly how he will do it this time.............
I've had the honor of watching David Gilmour play in Chicago, on my birthday. April 13, 2006. I turned 21. A gentleman from the Pink Floyd forum sent me a bootleg of that concert to me, for free. There are still genuine people in the world. Thank you mystery person, thank you.
"He's been playing this song since the early 70's"
Exactly!! Released in 1973, this album is closing in on being 40 years old!! Half the punks here weren't BORN when this song and album was being recorded, yet feel they can judge how The Floyd should play their own music..
every guitar solo tells a story, everytime i listen to a solo i understand the story a little bit more, and when i hear a live version, it's even easier to understand...
Wow, can we stop thumbing up and gratefying the comment that starts with 'You don't get music do you..' . That is just a head up arse statement. This is a great solo by all means.
DG stoned this he sang beautifully and played beautifully DG gives me cold chills theres not manny that can bend the strings like ole DG this is the best version ive heard him do of this . DG come to the states and tour America needs an infusion of great MUSIC into its veins so we can get off this shit coming through our airwaves these days
@mbeckwith146 same here. i'm 13 and NEED to see him! I personally think it wouldn't make any sense if he didn't. He had nothing but good things to say about this tour so I don't see why he shouldn't want to do it again. From what I heard, he said it's much easier than a Floyd tour. He could totally tour again. I just hope he doesn't wait too long like he did last time. :(
the best thing about him is that he never plays the same thing twice. David, man I wish i was born earlier so I could've seen you shine in the early years
The Pink. The Floyd. The Gilmour. The Best. This is my favorite song in the World, and has my favorite solo in it. Every version of it he plays is beautiful and perfect. So is the record version. Never heard a bad version of it from Gilmour. Let the Floyd rock forever. R.I.P. Dimebag.
You say 50Cent-I Say Led Zeppelin You say Miley Cyrus-I say AC/DC You say T-Pain-I say Deep Purple You say Flowers-I say Van Halen You say Pink-I say Pink Floyd You say Hip Hop-i say Jimi Hendrix You say R&B-I scream Classic Rock You say hanah montana-i hit you in the face 70% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Rap.If you are part of the 30% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos. DON'T LET THE SPIRIT rock die
I love how he changed up the solo a bit. It's obviously not going to beat the recorded version, but then again thats a perfect solo. I give this take a 9/10 and the recorded version a 10/10.
i went to a further concert and they did a cover of this it could have been because of the all the second hand marijuana smoke or just because i was not expecting them to play it but it was one of the best experiences of my life and i just about came un glued
@23MarcoMejia Ok, without him Pink Floyd would not ever exist, great. But still, go see him play live and tell me how it was. You'll see. He just.. sucks.
i love PF music, i like PF fans. that's why i didn't follow DG's intructions to take the shirts off his fans back. i worked for PF as undercover bootleg security.
You don't get music do you...It's not about playing the same solo every single fucking time...it's about taking artistic freedom...expression...playing as you feel...He's been playing this song since the early 70's...he's probably never played it the same twice...if you want the "original" listen to the fuckin' record.
one of the main reasons i love gilmour is that he freshens it up each time, hes good enough to improvise and let you hear something new. Hes a genius.

Tell me about it. Even more so now that Wright is gone...it will never be the same. My pops says it will be twice as hard to get them out touring now too (because Wright is gone).
I still have that pass. One VIP with the division bell hologram stone heads (i think it was Syd). The other is a yellow all access with the long legged guys walking.
God damn I LOVE FLOYD. Does it get any better than "Time", written with 60 beats per minute...whoa...deep dude!!! Or High Hopes?

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
fsan2005 1 year ago
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.
