Just thought I'd share what the 2003 Strategic Plan states: " the men and women that make up the uniformed section of Corporate Security and are relentless in their pursuit to form an alliance with staff and patrons throughout all City locations to identify, solve, and prevent problems which would otherwise threaten the safety, security and legitimate utilization of City facilities."
The unwritten "Strategic Plan" ... is "relentless in their pursuit" is to protect Mississauga politicians from members of the public who try to politely ask intelligent questions that could show our elected officals are lest than perfect.
It is only safe to cheer them on and shower them with awards. Taxpayers know your place!!!!!
Watcher, your comment, "You've changed the rules without notice" is of course, true. As you know, I checked the Apr/May/Jun agendas/minutes of all General Committee and Council minutes and there's zero mention of the sudden decision to follow the procedural bylaw. Perhaps if I scoured the Mississauga News for those months there might be something.
But so far there's every evidence they just pulled the rug -- after making you wait three hours.

Surely you know it's taxpayers who pay the entry fees for the awards that Mississauga bestows upon itself.
How else do you think they receive a "Distiguished" Budget Award 19 years in a row.
