  • Just another brief note. If you do manage to get the 2nd knockdown early enough you can still top 2:35 by just dodge/countering Tyson's hooks without late hitting him. If you strictly dodge/counter phase 3 will take 52 - 55 seconds depending on whether he does his mini-delay which costs ~ 3 seconds and is random. If you want to see an example go to the Speeddemosarchive website and watch the 4th segment of the MTPO run which is just the Tyson fight. It is 2:29 using the "easy" phase 3 strategy.

  • Good luck viperware. Beating Tyson in under 2:35 is very difficult even for top flight MTPO players. I have gotten him in less than 2:35 ~10 times, and I have fought him probably over 500 times. The latest your 2nd knockdown can be is 1:56 if you hit all 8 late hits in phase 3 it will add an additional 38 seconds to your time. I would recommend trying to get the first knockdown by 0:57 at the latest, that way you have a chance to get the 2nd knockdown before he starts his hooks at 1:30.

  • @lukeMiller Thanks for the tips! I am impressed that you have accomplished world record times for this feat. Right now I am just practicing the late hits in the first 1:30. Once I can consistently get all of them, I will have 1st and 2nd knockdowns at the 1:30 mark and will begin late hit training on his jabs as I find this part much more difficult to time.
