  • Life=Balance Without the dismal we wouldn't see the beautiful.

  • Have you ever wished to live more just to listen to this song? I do everyday and I just fear to die and cant listen to this anymore :(

  • Thom used to get super emotional over this song back in the 90s.. but he's enjoying it just as much as the audience now.

  • I hear this song and see it as: "get hope, before there's no hope". The song gives me hope. Oddly tells me, if you get hope, you will avoid the upcoming hopelessness that will bear down upon those who didnt have hope in the first place. This might sound incredibly stupid and confusing. But yeah, the song isnt hopeless for me.

  • I love thom, but jesus man, everyone struggles with death and for a lot of people in that audience I bet just going to a show is a struggle against anxiety and fear that has roots in the fear of death.

  • Sorry, I feel hope in this song. Everyone got his own interpretetion, and nobody got the right one because there's is not. When I'm really sad, listening to this kind of song makes me happy, and you've got a problem with that? Grow up...

  • This is best and saddest song written! I can't believe how the audience are just singing along as if it's just another song though, it's about hopelessness and how death will always win for f**** sake! How can the audience not know that! It frustrates me.

  • @renewenergy Thom like in "THis song is a piece of art"

  • There's beauty and joy in artfully expressing what usually goes unsaid.

  • holy shit read the interpretation on the song's wikipedia page, dont think i'll be listening to this as much as i used to.. and what a fucking dumb audience.

  • wait............ this is real?!?!?

  • @Gr4eTV

QUOTE! Put quotation marks next time.

  • it's like when you're going to have your dog put down and it's wagging its tail on the way there.

  • @Gr4eTV thats terribly sad

  • gracias radiohead, gracias por todo.

  • This is one of the best songs they've written but I'm glad they progressed beyond The Bends. I know a lot of people only like that era but I'd be sad if there was no Idioteque, Karma Police or Nude. Radiohead have evolved the way a band should. I'm sure their next long play record will be a clear progression too.

  • The audience really should stop cheering.....Thom hates to sing this song, it is truly their most depressing and he says in interviews that he doesn't know why everyone likes it

  • @evansawesomevideos17 which is kinda sad cos the whole point of a good band is being able to connect with your 'creatures'. Sometimes bands should get off their high horses and just play (with all due respect. I was at this gig, and it was bloody awesome!)

  • @mssmirky I know, but if the writer of the song hates the song, I don't really think there is a high horse to get off, but I am super jealous that you got to see this show!!

  • We all love you Tom...........

  • My friends and I used to listen to this song in college, shut all the lights off and pass the bong around. Then we would each interpret what we thought the song meant.

  • For me the best radiohead track ever..

  • @carot2003 greatest song ever, full stop.

  • This song reminds me why i became a vegan.

  • i'm crying.

  • @MrsSvanur me2

  • has anyone read the wikipedia to this?

  • @steakandchips19

I have and there is no direct source to that long quote. I hope it's not true cause it sounds way too pretentious. This is a great song but Thom's supposedly quote is really exaggerated. This is a song and nothing more...

  • RADIOHEAD...EMBLEMATIC BAND

  • immerse your soul in love

    beautiful, simply beautiful

  • its funny to see the reaciton of the audience to this song. clap your hands, hands in the air ect. its almost on every concert the same. like thom said "maybe the people in the crowd are much braver than I am or they dont understand the meaning of "street spirit""

  • Could you imagine the feeling of having everyone sing a long to such an amazing song? I can only imagine

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!! JUST AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is absolutely incredible live. Wow I am extremely impressed.

    Tom Yorke

  • Immerse your soul in love.... Searching the meaning of the word IMMERSE in the dictionary, it says: submerge, absorb or involve deeply in.............So let´s immerse our soul in love....... ohhhhhhh isn´t that beautiful????

  • this song takes you higher than LSD or any other drugs can be!!

  • @masonteddy like you know...

  • i havent seen a GLASTO performance BETTER than this ever!!

  • JUST PEE ON MY PANTS

  • 15 people are the idiots in charge

  • 15 people are the Street Spirits

  • "peace and love, no more idiots in charge" thom fuckin yorke ladies and gentlemen.

  • great.

    thank you.

  • genial

  • while god was making thom he said we will make a amazing songwriter and singer... and also a great guitar player, sure why not make him a one of a kind genius of music, and maybe give him one bad eye so to just make people know he is human after all

  • free replay button 0:10

  • i had an epiphany while listening to this at the age of 18.

  • I don't get shy Thom says the lyrics are so deep when they're mostly made up of "uuuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaahh"

  • I was there on this incredible night. Had lost all my mates and just stood in awe for almost 2 hours. Still gives me tingles down my spine. Best live performance i've ever seen that's for sure.

  • @mikeroberts1976 lucky you,mate.bloody lucky you.

  • @Nirvaaanaa Thom Yorke said that "'Street Spirit' is our purest song, but I didn't write it. It wrote itself. We were just its messengers; its biological catalysts. Its core is a complete mystery to me, and, you know, I wouldn't ever try to write something that hopeless."

  • If any video had 0 dislikes what would people talk about?

  • 15 people faded out of existence

  • how could 15 people don't like this great song?! I really don't understand!

    Great song, great band! :D

  • 15 people need serious help immediately

  • @jasam89 I feel really sad for them.....

  • they did not wrie this song it was written for them and they communicated it through them

  • @mufcrulesable what the hell are you talking about?

  • well, I hope there are still people who can get touched by a song just by listening to its melody, and not by analyzing the lyrics. I hate it when people start discussing the meaning of a song or poem. We've all had different lives, so we all see different things in a particular lyric. btw, this is a wonderful song, and yes, I am a man, but I cried listening to this song.

  • 15 people are spirits of the street

  • This song is a emotional assault to whoever has the luck or tragedy of understanding it in its own life context. Radiohead here have written the most hardcore song of all times. Its not ear-splitting 180-Bpm metal that talks about raping demons or whatnot, its about the tragedy of existance, a concept so big it will swallow you whole and leave you empty.

  • Immerse your soul in Radiohead.

  • This is why music (radiohead) is my drug. Its as if you are not here, but you are.

  • They make awesome songs but the fact they take themselves way to seriously puts me off them

  • @joe101188 But thats why there so amazing. Coz they dont play around

  • When Thom said what the song meant I sometimes think the cracked eggs and birds as they fight for life mean young and old

  • and that's what I call music.

  • 15 tears hit the dislike button

  • it's very impressive that they played this as their last song.

  • juste beau....

  • :******* why a love you Yorke ?

  • 15 people are tone deaf!

  • "I can't believe we have fans that can deal emotionally with that song. That's why I'm convinced that they don't know what it's about. Looking out at thousands of people cheering and smiling, oblivious to the tragedy of its meaning, like when you're going to have your dog put down and it's wagging its tail on the way. That's what they all look like, and it breaks my heart. I wish that song hadn't picked us as its catalysts, and so I don't claim it. I didn't write that song" -Thom Yorke

  • serious goosebumps

  • I love how Jonny can play the guitar and keyboard at the same time.

  • shame Bill Hicks didnt live long enough to experience what is Radiohead. Shame.

  • Imagine writing such a emotional song, and a massive crowd start smiling and singing along with it, damn... I would hate it.

  • @ShineOnCrazyDiamond1 That's what Yorke said :P

  • Thom Yorke is the coolest freak of the world

  • It gives me chills everytime I hear it....Pure beauty!!!

  • I wish I had never listened to this song.... It will never stop haunting me with it's undescribable beauty...

  • I must make up at least 500 of the amount of times this video has been watched. It's the year 2003 and I'm standing in a Somerset field watching this. Yes, I am there. It is beautiful.

  • Listen all the hating comments cant we just take words from Thom and just have piece. Yes i have been part in these youtube comment battles and they are frustrating, but listening to this song has made me realize, whats the point. We have a pice of magnificence to enjoy in the form of this song. So lets enjoy it.

  • no moe idiots in charge, its 8 years on and i see no difference :/

  • @SPAZZYG it's got worse, tony blair was a pretty good prime minister other than his decisions in iraq, unfortunately that is the reason why thom yorke hates him

  • @lozzag13 tony blair was a pretty good prime minister . what good things did he do?

  • @panzermatt Basically ended the terrorism and troubles in northern Ireland

  • @lozzag13 he did do that. ill give you that much.

  • @lozzag13 also gave us years of prosperity

  • @paddymourinho...at 3:54.thom said it :love is the light at the end of the tunnel .immerse your soul in love .that`s it!

  • Street Spirit is our purest song but I didn't write it. It wrote itself. We were just its messengers; its biological catalysts. Its core is a complete mystery to me, and, you know,I wouldn't ever try to write something that hopeless. All of our saddest songs have somewhere in them at least a glimmer of resolve.Street Spirit has no resolve. It is the dark tunnel without the light at the end. It represents all tragic emotion that is so hurtful that the sound of that melody is its only definition.

  • @paddymourinho you are not a member of radiohead so why are you saying the song is yours?

  • @KillCanPsycho a quote from thom yorke. idiot.

  • @paddymourinho to be fair, you should put quotation marks.

  • @farizzal to be fair " you should fuck off"

  • @paddymourinho ah and who is that you're quoting?

  • @farizzal irony darling

  • @paddymourinho yes. sarcasm darling.

  • @KillCanPsycho he's just quoting what Thom Yorke said one, buddy ;)

  • Just zooming through the side bar watching all the Radiohead Glastonbury 2003 videos :D

Radiohead fans, check out 'Porcupine Tree'.

  • I want to be inside of this song.

  • @toolfanify your a tool

  • I can't think of anything cooler than Johnny Greenwood playing a Fender Starcaster.

  • the best thing my ears have ever heard.

  • i could die to that song and id still be greatly happy

  • i could die to that song and id still be greatly happy

  • such a nice relaxing song,SUCH A EMOTIONAL SONG...beautifull

  • @SPR159 This song doesn´t actually relax me and according to what Thom Yorke said, neither it relaxes him.Quite the opposite actually

  • @ZeinW ye maybe u are right ^^ but still very emotional song....

  • this song always puts me on the verge of tears. it's so beautiful and full of despair. the emotion just takes you over.

  • Shivers are going down my spine

  • Follow me on twitter @AnAirbagSavedMe

I try to talk about radiohead as much as I can and i'm trying to get a decent following. It would mean a lot

    LONG LIVE RADIOHEAD <3

  • wtf the crowd is perfect

  • @braxri Well generally speaking musicians are the ones who are fanatics of Radiohead

  • That was exciting

  • Just Perfect!.. :D

  • Brilliant, just brilliant! As is everything this man does! :D x

  • can you believe some people think coldplay are better than these guys?

  • @FakeFlourescentSkies Coldplay couldn't shine their boots, with all due respect to Coldplay, a group I listen to frequently.

  • @FakeFlourescentSkies no i can't, those people are fucked up

  • I used to be crazy obsessed with radiohead .. I used to tell everyone how much i loved them and how thom yorke is like a rock god and all of the kids at my school tell me that they suck and it really tears my heart apart..It kinda made me not advertise them as much because everyone kept on putting me down about them... but i can honestly say no other band has the abilites to capture my soul like them..If you honestly think radiohead sucks you have no soul when it comes too music...

  • @TheKr3Ep I so agree with you, don't ever care for what others say, Radiohead are amazing and they make wonderful music. I am much older than you but I never liked the bands others did even when I was at school and they just laughed at me when I talked about my favourites but I still like much of those bands because they too did real good music. The majority of people just don't have the soul for real music. Never mind.......

  • @TheKr3Ep I can relate. They're music captivated me since I first heard them and always will.

  • @TheKr3Ep Anyone who can't appreciate Radiohead is not worth entering a debate with regarding their talent. Talk about lollypops or something with their kind of mind.

  • @TheKr3Ep I'm the exact same mate, no one understands when I tell them how good Radiohead are, they just dont give them a chance.......anyway their loss :)

  • thomas yorke definately one of the best muscians of all time!

  • 14 people are hopeless....

  • FREAKING 'A'

  • Dark, Rich, Hugely Hopeless and as magic as it is dark... Fade out again - says it all and its obvious that Thom is a true genius, he is the contradiction of awkwardness and musical master/rockstar, excitement and withdrawal and doom. Radiohead has written some of the greatest pieces and this is a piece of art. In my darkness, i hum this to myself
