  • I miss this wonderful aircraft.

  • Nice i love the il-62

  • The Illyushin Il-62 is one graceful aircraft. I saw a Cubana de Aviacion example like this one at Barajas International Airport in Madrid, Spain. Saw he up close too. Impressive!!

  • even the new russian planes need to be stage 3 noise compliant

  • spectacular!! il 62 is very very nice! and also the sound is fantastic :-)

  • @marcoGismondi93 thanks Marco, yes indeed..a great sound that is slowly fading away!

  • This is how planes are suppose to sound.

  • Cool island, cool airplane, cool video +)

  • they still have two of them ,,its incredible how back we are(am cuban) in technology

  • @luislaurencio But u're always have an Il-96-300- an one of the best world's airliners which never had crushed yet)) Am Russian))

  • @Panch124 It has never crashed because there are only like 45 of them or something like that,,not like the 737 that has 4000 ,oviously more planes means more accidents

  • @luislaurencio I know this) But even americans are sayin that Il-96 is more safe than their Boeings or Airbuses.

  • @Panch124 most accidents are human error

  • @luislaurencio U'r right))

  • Were you on Air Jamaica in this video?

  • Haha,,,tbird, yo're a true seasoned AirJam traveler...you don't miss a detail regarding them.

  • that wheel on the back is that normal? thats the first time i ever see this!!!!

  • yes, all IL-62s are equiped with them.

  • @FlyVzla The back wheels needs for an empty airliner (without passengers and fuel) because when she is empty a center of gravity shits to a stern and the back wheels need to prevent a plane from tipping on stern.

  • i dislike these planes as the russians copied this plane. it was a vc-10 but they decided to do a bad version of it and put llyushin on it >:(

  • @coolharry1236 They are quite different planes even though they look similar and no-one has ever proven that the design was copied. Later VC10 copied aspects of the Il-62 wing design, and the Il-62 undercarriage has been copied by other plane-makers . The VC10 only lasted 16 years and was not very successful (even BOAC didn't want them without govt subsidies), the Il-62 was made in much larger numbers, has been around for 43 years, was operated by 30 countries, and is still in service today.

  • What a great video. The IL-62 is how real aircraft are supposed to sound. Love it when it shuts the engines. Beautiful aircraft and yes very rare to see this action from inside the HAV terminal.

  • Well said!

What TIT gave you the thumbs down? - asshole

  • Awesome and so rare!!!! This is the only Russian-built aircraft I've ever flown on. I went on a choral tour (legally) to Cuba and we flew Cubana from Toronto.

  • That must have been one fun ride! I never got that chance..
