The Illyushin Il-62 is one graceful aircraft. I saw a Cubana de Aviacion example like this one at Barajas International Airport in Madrid, Spain. Saw he up close too. Impressive!!
@Panch124 It has never crashed because there are only like 45 of them or something like that,,not like the 737 that has 4000 ,oviously more planes means more accidents
@FlyVzla The back wheels needs for an empty airliner (without passengers and fuel) because when she is empty a center of gravity shits to a stern and the back wheels need to prevent a plane from tipping on stern.
@coolharry1236 They are quite different planes even though they look similar and no-one has ever proven that the design was copied. Later VC10 copied aspects of the Il-62 wing design, and the Il-62 undercarriage has been copied by other plane-makers . The VC10 only lasted 16 years and was not very successful (even BOAC didn't want them without govt subsidies), the Il-62 was made in much larger numbers, has been around for 43 years, was operated by 30 countries, and is still in service today.
What a great video. The IL-62 is how real aircraft are supposed to sound. Love it when it shuts the engines. Beautiful aircraft and yes very rare to see this action from inside the HAV terminal.
Awesome and so rare!!!! This is the only Russian-built aircraft I've ever flown on. I went on a choral tour (legally) to Cuba and we flew Cubana from Toronto.
I miss this wonderful aircraft.

i dislike these planes as the russians copied this plane. it was a vc-10 but they decided to do a bad version of it and put llyushin on it >:(
