This guy ask if the candidates will allow US to drill.
"US" to drill ????????
He apparently thinks the USA is like many countries in S.A. & the M.E. where the country drills for oil, uses what it needs & and then exports any surplus.
Sorry but we don't operate that way.
Exxon has already shown me that they are AN INTERNATIONAL ENTITY WITH MORE MONEY THAN MANY COUNTRIES AND IF WE ALLOW THEM TO DRILL IN ALASKA -- NO GUARANTEE A BIT WILL GO TO US.
This is untrue, or there would not be drilling going on in the US at this moment. In fact, it's widespread, even though congress sees fit to deny access to most of the richest oil areas.
Did you know that oil production in the US actually increased by 250,000 barrels/day last year? That's despite ever decreasing production of existing wells.
Open up the shelf and ANWR, and let us really show them what we can do.
Very Naive fellow.

We actually buy oil from overseas because it's cheaper to import it than use our own.

Imports are cheaper because foreign oil doesn't pay what America spends on employee wages, benefits ... etc.
Our oil is open to the world market yet other countries never needed it, so the majority of it remained in reserve.
A 30% increase in production occurred when the US opened up its reserves as the NOC's had closed their own.
We are making more oil than we need.
Contradicting the demand to open more offshore waters and Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling.
It's a scam.
