I wouldnt really automatically equate these people with Conservatives, Conservatives tend to have a fairly coherant ideology and a clearly defined justification for what they believe. Plus these people are mroe radically regressive if anything not to mention painfully machismo (and homo-erotic) to an almost soul-destroying level. It hardly helps that they seem to fixated on their own rage as opposed to any beliefs they may have.
