Agree, God does the work in saving us. We are born from above. Man does not have control over his own physical birth, nor do we have the control in our spiritual birth. John 1:13 says "which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." Faith to believe is given. We have the faith of Christ given in the new birth. This is all by grace and not of ourselves.
Christ said it is finished. Nobody can put a price on eternal life. Not one person could afford to pay for it. Not me, not you, not anybody on this planet. If we all got together we couldn't add up enough works to earn it in a million lifetimes. Only Christ can afford to pay the tab. Only Christ is qualified for the job. I don't remember Christ asking any of us to be references on His resume. If you think Christ's resume is lacking then cut Him out of the Bible.
@Evangelander Hello.....I wasn't in disagreement with you. I was posting the comment for anyone who thinks salvation can be 'earned'. Only Christ can afford to pay our sin debt. Have a great day!
James 2:24-justified by works and not by faith alone.
We are NOT saved by faith alone!! We must do the works of obedience-believe (John 6:29), repent (Luke 13:3), confess (Rom. 10:10), and be baptized (Acts 2:38). Don't get "works of merit" confused with "works of obedience." Eph. 2:8-9 speaks of "works of merit." By obeying God's commands we are not "earning" our salvation. 1 Thess. 1:3-"work of faith."
I agree. I don't know what I said in this video that would lead to think I believe otherwise. The Scriptures you site are all very valid. These do not negate the fact that we are saved by grace through faith and THAT not of yourself. Faith is a gift of God and works accompany faith. Faith that is NOT accompanied by works is dead.
I believe we are saved by grace through faith and THAT not of ourselves. It is a gift of God. Works accompany faith. Faith that is NOT accompanied by works is dead. This is exactly what s taught in Ephesians, Romans, James and, in principle, all through Scripture. It is God that worketh in you both to will and to DO of His good pleasure. When a person is quickened, they, from that point on, submit themselves to God and He works through them, Including repentance and baptism.
So are you telling me that one is saved ONLY after baptism or before? Acts 2:38 says baptism is for the "remission of sins." Acts 22:16 says "be baptized and wash away your sins." Gal. 3:27 says "as many as have been baptized INTO Christ." The bible says we MUST be baptized (not a work of merit, but of God) in order to be saved. It is by God's grace that He gives us the opportunity to be saved.
I am not saying either, and I would never say that one does not need to be baptized. When we speak of baptism, there are many types: baptism of water, the baptism of John, baptism by fire, baptism of the Spirit, etc. When you say we need to be baptized I agree, but which baptism? Certainly we cannot limit to water baptism, that would exclude the thief on the cross, he had no opportunity to do so. If you are speaking of spritiual baptism, then Yes! we must receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is only mentioned 2x in the N. Testament (Acts 1:5, and Acts 10:45), and it was used on the apostles and the first Gentile converts to display God's power. We MUST be baptized in water FOR remission of sins(Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Acts 22:16, 1 Peter 3:21, Galatians 3:27). The thief on the cross died before this command came into being, but Christ had the power to forgive his sins(Luke 5:24). I pray you will consider these scriptures seriously.
According to Acts 2:38 we must repent and be baptized IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR the remission of sins. This is water baptism, as noted in Acts 10:47-48. Please explain your definition of "Holy Spirit baptism."
@twisantigo John the Baptist said "He who comes after me is greater that I and He shall baptize with spirit and fire." Once we have accepted Christ we are baptized with the Holy Spirit, not water.
Thanks for sharing this revelation with us! You have done a great job of simplifying a complicated issue. Have you ever read Classic Christianity? What you are saying here ties in nicely with what I believe on the subject.. Faith is the hope of things not yet seen. Jesus is still alive! :) God Bless Brother!
THe reason I asked the question is to see what your response would be. If you mean by the constitution "needs to be repaired," means that we need to rescend many of the amendments that are stripping we the people of our rights, I strongly agree. If you mean that certain parts of the original constitution need to be "repaired." I strongly disagree.
The constitution needs to be applied as it was written. Only ammendments that further secure rights the freedom citizenry should even be considered.
The original Constitution, prior to any of the Amendments, including the Bill of Rights, DOES NOT ensure that those elected to REPRESENT the People actually HAVE TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE.
NOTHING in the original Constitution GUARANTEES the PEOPLE representation in government.
Yes, it provides for the People to elect "representatives" but it does not provide any punishment other than the "POSSIBLE" removal from office.
In living, I notice people in similar situation in life at the same time. One is happy; the other miserable. Each one experiences their own state of mind about the situation they are in.
Thus, heaven and hell are a state of mind; and we make our own heaven and hell in which we live.
I agree entirely! My mind is set on Christ and regardless of the situation I and in in "real life," I find peace knowing that I have a GOd who cares for me and will deliver me from all this, on day soon.
THis is my belief. I don't expect others to ascribe to it. Actually they cannot ascribe to it if they have not experienced it.
If you are going to president, you are going to uphold the constitutuion, right?
As for the Constitution, it needs to be repaired in several placed to prevent the future repeats of many of the injustices we now experience from our political personnel.
For me, and I would hope to most US Citizens, our Declaration and Constitution are inseparable documents in that they must both be viewed side by side. The Declaration is our past, from whence we came. The Constitution, our future, our destination.
I think you have gotten my comment mixed up with a comment from baptistfaith. The reason I ask the question is because freedom to exercise one's personal, religious beliefs are guaranteed by our constitution and you seem to be ascribing a particular ateist view that could easily degrade religion to being "only" a simple mindset. That is something that would greatly please humanists and secularists, but it opens the door for claims that religion is "only" a mindset that must be done away with.
Basic logic, in my opinion, religion is a state of belief about and usually concerning a god of sorts; as well, beliefs exist within everyone whether those beliefs are connected to some religion or scientific theory: All beliefs are the concoction of the mind within which that belief resides. To me, beliefs have two main roots: One root is that of which the "believer" thinks is true; The other is that in which the "believer" wants to be true. The belief then, is the combination.
What I mean is that not all atheists believe alike. There are particular minsets that, in believing that God does not exist, all believers are delusional. You believe "All beliefs are the concoction of the mind," so it is evident that you do not believe in God, that I have "concocted" what I believe, so there is really little left to discuss.
If all "believer" are delusional...Every living human is delusional, because we all believe something about everything.
Though I find myself able to acknowledge the existence of that which is more powerful than I; I also find no reason to worship it either. For that which is more powerful than I include things like virus' that make me sick and might possible kill me: Yet I find no reason to worship the virus. Personally, I find no god as powerful as a virus or able to do as much.
I believe we are saved by Grace but we must have Faith and Works of Obedience to Christ, "Ye are my friends, IF ye do whatsoever I command you." (John 15:14).
3. Corrections: I meant to say "that (faith) IS not of yourself "it" is a gift of God.
one additional point: is is through the grace of God that the gift was given, so I think that eliminates the possibility of the "gift" referring to grace. All the gifts of GOd come to us as a result of God's grace being extended into our lives.
Would you please allow me your perspective on the phrase "We are saved by hope." in Romans 8:24? and its relationship to faith, perhaps.
Brother, whichever way we go with this will put us into either the camp of "election" or "freewill". If the gift is faith then one can argue that our faith is not a choice but a gift of God (election). And if we believe that the gift is grace then that leaves open the possibility that we have free will to believe (faith). Well Brother, if the gift is "grace" or if the gift is "faith" I am happy to receive it either way.
I agree. I believe that faith is a gift of God and we can choose to exercise it or not. Therein, is freewill expressed. But again, I believe that either way, the love of God prevails.
Brother Phil, of course I agree completely that we are NOT save by works (see Romans 4:5). But I have another question for you. In Eph. 2:8,9 does the "gift" refer to the "grace" or the "faith"? And thank you for your good message in this video.
1. sincitypreacher: what a wonderful question! I love sincerity - it is one of he unwritten virtues. First, the words "it is" are supplied (not in the original text, added for "clarification") :) because of this addition, the text is actually muddled. If we leave these words out, the answer does not necessarily become clearer, because the IT in "it is" is a referer that needs a precedent. Without "it" we have none and that's not really compatible with with English, which is why they were added.
2. Well now that I confused the issue. :) My point is that to determine which word gift refers to (faith or grace), we must look at more that that which was added.
The key is found earlier in the sentence and this is in the word "that." the word "that" most certainly refers to faith. The "it" in "it is" refer to "that." in other words: "That (faith) in not of your self "it" is a gift of God.
Does this make sense? If you see it another way, I welcome the perspective with great joy.
Listen folks, when it comes to the truth you can not leave out scriptures to try and prove your point.

I can surely understand that we are saved by the blood of Christ and that there is no other name given among men by which we muxt be saved.
What I can't understand is why you are so antagonistic when it comes to God's grace. Nor can I understand why you say that everyone that doesn't believe the way you do is "against the truth." I believe that Jesus' coming to Earth was an act of God's grace. What could possibly be wrong with that?
What do you do with 2Cor 12:9 "My grace is sufficient."
We are not saved by the word Grace. By God's kindness (grace) towards us we have a chance for salvation. We still have something to do Acts 2:38 and this is his grace that saves us. If you are not obedient to salvation then Grace is nothing.
So now you aer changing it to "we are not saved byt the WORD grace." You ae confusing the issue.
Then, you say, "We still have something to do."
Let me clarify: We are saved by the blood of Jesus and there is NOTHING that we can do to "add" to that sacrificial act. We are NOT saved by repenting, for instance, we repent because of the convidtion of the Holy Spirit, working on our heart and mind. Salvation is wholly a work of God - Our "work" is to rest in His finished work at the cross.
The word Grace is taken out of context. What is grace; grace is an act of kindness and a dipensation of time. By God's grace we are saved does NOT mean that we are saved by Grace. This is simple english yet so many people mis-interpitate this scripture take it as salvation. Ask yourself, How did the apostles conduct salvation? How did the apostle Paul conduct the salvation process? What did the deciples of Christ do and teach?
Baptism in Jesus name! The deceiver wants you to take short cuts.
Wonderful points on the grace of God and how salvation comes to us. It's so wonderful the grace we have received that brought us to salvation and the grace that keeps working in our life to perfect Christ in us. That we continue to be molded into the image of Jesus in our soul by the grace that keeps working in our lives.
This was very well said and done. God bless you for making this video. May it help many come to Jesus by His faith. Isn't God good. He's our Faith, Health, Provider, and much, much more. Got to be a child of God's to understand just how much more He is to us who believe.
You are so correct. Spirirtual things are spiritually discerned. God is all in all. This is quite the opposite from "God does not exist" as the world believes. It's sad, but I am hopeful.
This is how I explain it to people who don't have a clue. FAITH is condition of the heart, which means we are not thinking God is real by ration or proof. Works are the actions which can be a benefit or a hindrance depending on what is done! IN ONE SENSE FAITH IS AN ACTION BUT NOT considered a WORK. Many Godly men and woman had faith in God before the WORD WAS MADE MAN. But it was faith in the promise of God who said a savior was coming that makes all men and women who take Christ blessed!
Amen. Wonderful teaching. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. "His power living in us" It is no longer I that lives, but Christ that lives in me. God bless you too.
I also believe that it is "by the faith of Christ". His Life, His Righteousness, His Wisdom, in us. In humility and gladness, we live "In Him". Thank you
Everyone who does not bear good fruit is thrown into the fire.

Thank you
