I had to pause the vid because i couldn't stop laughing at the horrible mask!! it looks so small on his face and lopsided lols i could find a better mask online then this $3 mask LMFAOOOOOOOO
people please remember that they are basing it on the gaston leroux version so it is baisically the original story line but i agree with the mask it needs to b more horrifying though using the lloyd webber version mask also add a bit of morderness to it so it keeps a bit of both worlds well done i am impressed anyway great acting :D
Wow. The preview was cool, but 20 seconds into this and I already think that this sucks. If this is in the movie, or a scene anywhere near similar mask-wise, I just won't see it.
I wouldn't say the acting is terrible . . . it would have helped if you didn't use the ALW Phantom mask. And I think Erik needs a better voice and more presence. Raoul seems a little too forceful. He appears angry at her for about 90% of the time, and suddenly he changes to remorse at the end. There should be more ups and downs, him swinging between being angry and being concerned. Okay, that's enough critiquing on my part.
This is awful! The only thing good about it is the score. The acting is dreadful, and the story doesn't follow...like...at all...I'm sorry but....I adore the Phantom of the Opera, in every incarnation, but this? The concept is fantastic, but...I can't even describe how terrible this will be. Woosley needed to not listen to his girlfriend and stick with the original idea. Then maybe....MAYBE it would be....decent.
Aaaah, most you guys are being much too hard. After all, this is merely a screen test - not an actual production/movie! Be a little more respectful, a little less harsh, and if you want to share your ideas on how to make this film better - then go for it. (Like I said though, just be a little more respectful.)
lighthouseltdpicture - good job! Keep working at it! (Good to see someone *finally* trying to produce a Leroux version!)
in some ways, yes, but Erik /refused/ to let her hear Don Juan Triumphant.
the actress is obviously untrained. by the way, this is 1880 something! women were basically covered from neck to ankles (depending on the fashion).
i understand christine is about 16, but this girl is undesirable to play this role. id rather have a 25 year old who is experienced than a child who cant fit her character. she doesnt even wear a brunette wig!
'Do not waste my time with your lies, woman!' XD!! I don't know why, but that makes me laugh so hard. It sounds like something that you would hear around THIS time. OMG, this is pretty cool, though
Well, it didn't go with the story line. When she tells Erik to show her his face without fear, it is after she hears duan jaun trumihant and he will not play it for her. As he would say "duan jaun trumaphant burns." That was a horrible knock off to the book and leroux would problably hang himself after watching it.
... K.. Erik with a K...* pokes the other spelling of Erik* the score is beautiful. Who did it?...Other than that, I'm speechless...And not in a very positive way.... Work on your vocal control & emotions and try to draw from the text the core of that character. With so many rabid 'Phans', you must be quite careful how you portray them. Work on it, and then it shall be better. Sorry if I'm being harsh, but someone has to tell you the constructive things you don't want to hear.
Is this before or after these people got acting lessons? They're much too forcefull...it doesn't seem natural and there's not enough deep emotion in their voices. I'm really glad someone wants to make a film totally based on the novel...but maybe a bigger production company should do it. "Erik" needs to be have a more powerfull voice, he's nothing like in the book. Raoul isn't gentle enough adn Christine needs to be more vunerable (and learn how to cry)
yea spelled with a K, NOT a C. It's ok but with the mask have it made out of a diffrent material and have the eyehole smaller so you don't see the flesh around the eye. I loved the actor who played Erik.
a little cheezy, stick to the book's exact quotation and you'll be fine, i love the book, and i'd love to see a movie that is an exact copy of the book, that would bring me true happiness
But why? Don't get me wrong, I adoore the novel, and would love to see a movie close to the book. But I'd much rather see an adaptation. I don't see a reason to stick to the exact quotations. I don't think there's anything truly artfull about it, if it's just a copy of something else. I'd love to see someone bring Leroux to life, and keep the characters as they are in the novel, but instead of simply quoting it, portray Leroux's intention for the book.
well, that's just me, i would just love to see the actual book turn to life, the words mean everything to me... i would be crying of joy if someone would make a movie like that
Not too bad. I did cringe upon seeing the mask though... I would love to see the actual finished product. One thing though, Raoul's tone of voice in this test run is really kinda same all the way. Overall, love the idea! :)
Wow this looks really good i can't wait to see more and i want to the website and if you do sell your rendition i will be the first to buy!! Once again it looks really cool and i can't wait to see more!!
Why was this Christine not used in the actual film? She's the right age and a good actress. She deserved it.

You need a full mask. A FULL MASK!!! Or else it's ALW's POTO, not Leroux's.
