Ah, vice grips! I like it! I ran over a dog tie out cable and am going to have to take the blade off to get all the wires out. Needle nose pliers won't even get them all out. Thanks!
There is a product called "POR15" that can be painted over rusted metal and prevents future rust. It's a very strong, chip resistant paint.... in can be painted on bare clean metal, but actually does better on rusty metal. It's an incredible product, and I think I might put it on my mower deck. I used it for the floor pans of my VW bug.
@pmarie2003 I swear by it. It's kind of like an epoxy that cures from air and humidity... I used it for the floor of my Volkswagen to prevent rust. There are a few other brands that are very similar but I have not used them. When you open up a can, remember that it is a paint that cures from moisture, so when you go back to your can, it might have a hard skin on it. To prevent this, I saturate the can with a heavier gas than air. I've used C02 and also Propane.
Yeah. They should be cleaned once in a while. My brother's deck rotted a whole right through. It was never cleaned. The whole was in the spot where one of the mounts are at the front end so it ruined the deck.
