  • if you say youre not committing any crime..why are you holding the police out of a building and hiding your faces???

  • Let's hope profiteer criminals are held responsible for their actions, and tuition rates get rolled back!

Hold a dance rally; professors, staff, students, parents, and community unite! Work with local officers, no violence!

  • This reminds of the tree people on campus. What flakes.

  • The end results is you liberal are going to get no more welfare.

  • The police have every right to forcefully remove illegal occupants and vandals from a school building. Furthermore, the school has every right to increase its tuition. There is no law or contract that prevents a school from increasing its tuition if it deems it necessary. These immature kids were completely in the wrong and deserved getting arrested.

  • @educheny Their are student unions. Just like labor unions. When an indifference in school policy occurs and a grievance is felt to exist the students have the right to protest the policy they deem wrong. It's called standing up to the man. YOU FUCKING SHAPESHIFTING REPTILLIAN TRAITOR.

  • @KlingonSpider Legal protests to express your displeasure at a tuition hike is one thing; illegally occupying, barricading, and vandalizing a university building is completely different. And the latter is unacceptable under any circumstance. I repeat what I said before, they deserved getting arrested.

  • @educheny The students took wheeler hall because these "police" arent letting them protest. calling it unlawful. so to they needed to create a physical barrier to protest behind, and prevent the police from hurting them. They didn't vandalize the interior of hall I dont know why you think that. I do, though hope you agree with me thinking the "demands" they wanted were just ridiculous and they had no clear message to what they were doing. By the way sry 4 calling a reptilian shapeshifter

  • @KlingonSpider Protest like this might be justified, but only after taking appropriate measures prior. How many of these students tried to go to university policy meetings? Wrote letters to the president, local, and state law makers? Provided viable alternative solutions to decision makers? I'm guessing none.. they just decided to protest raising fees, without any viable solution proposed.

They feel entitled to go to Cal, when no such entitlement exists.

  • God bless the police. They have to deal with these ego-centric, socialist faggots all of the time. Then these liberal doucebags have the audacity to cry "police brutality." You asked for police brutality when you took over the school building, illegaly.

  • student rise baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im also a college student im with you!!!!!!!!!!! protest injustice!!! this is exactly what happened at my campus in california police hostility

  • blocking the entrance is a fire code violation and many other illegal activity

the tuition hikes reflect a loss in funding from tax dollars as well as endowment

giving we are in a bad shape in this country .

  • Berkley students...uuuuuuuuugh. Keep destroying/defacing college property guys. It's not like the college isn't going to justify the tuition hikes by saying they need to constantly make repairs due to these "protests" as you call them. I say ""protests"" because taking over and destroying private property is never a form of peaceful protest, it's a criminal action. Therefore, justifying police force. Stop hurting yourselves!

  • I thought the state of California was billions of dollars in debt. Who's going to pay for all these things that they're asking for? Is Berkley public private or both?

  • @cellartroll68 It's primarily public.

  • Cops need to practice their swing. Now where NEAR enough damage done.

  • California is Bankrupt, and these Flagburners complain they can't go to school for free? What a bunch of Losers!

  • Hell, the students at Berkeley will protest in the increase in the price of pizza!

  • Well....after interviewing numerous 'Honor Role' students from the UC system for positions....you're all getting ripped off. I'll take a highschool grad from Pakistan instead.

  • why do USA issues seem to reflect what is also happening in the UK?

  • Comment removed

  • Bush's fault

  • Solidarity from CSU Fresno

  • Most often, protesters hide their faces to not be seen by people or organisations that would seek them up or save their faces in a registry.

  • Why there's no tuition free college in US?

All nationally run colleges in Japan are free. IIT in India is free (by 60 minutes CBS)

If they offer an option of free education, students will compete for it which means natural selection of smart students regardless of how rich the family they were born to.

If this keeps going and only a few can afford higher education, all the students will be just like W. Bush.

Is that good for the future for this country?

  • Someone is gonna have to pay for the "free education". How about you go work hard earn money for me to go to school for free? If you don't, I will go protest. How's that sound ?

  • GoldSilver588:

"Someone is gonna have to pay for .."

It's probably not your money. There are so many other people who pay more than the public service they are getting. Majority of people like you get public service worth more than you pay and you don't even know it.

That's actually the result of high cost education and not giving a chance to smart students but don't have the money. The society gets dumber.

  • @allgoo19

George Bush was accepted in Yale with around a low 2 grade average. Obviously it was because of money not merit!

  • @allgoo19 Japan was bankrupt not much more than 20 years ago. The USA bailed them out with hundreds of billions of dollars. To compare the systems is tragically flawed.

Affording higher education is as tough as filling out a few forms and applying for student loans. Interest free until you graduate. Maybe pick up a part time job to help pay rent and bills and supplies. Can't afford Cal? Go to a school that isn't as pricey. There is no entitlement to go to a particular university.

  • @silvermediastudio "Japan was bankrupt not much more than 20 years ago."

    That's an interesting comment.

I searched it by, "Japan bankrupt"

but no result but only hits for "Risk of bankrupt" in the future.

Where did you find that Japan had it 20 yrs ago?

You don't make your point making up the false info.

Now, show me where the document?

  • @allgoo19 Look up the 1989 economic bubble. Both the real estate and stock exchange were wiped out. Trillions lost. Japan was on the brink of financial collapse, far far worse than the USA is now.

  • @silvermediastudio "Look up the 1989 economic bubble."

There's nothing about Japan being bankrupt and US bailed it out.

Post the page title of the document you found, so I can find exact the same page you are talking about.

Try it yourself, "Japan bankrupt", you'll find nothing there.

  • @silvermediastudio

    Hello?

    No reply?

Are you still looking for the article about US bailing out bankrupt Japan?

If you can't find it, at least you should tell me so.

  • but what does this movement stand for?

i'm not sure that this accomplished anything other than showing that police beat protesters, which i am definitely concerned about.

but no demands were met, and i am not sure they really should have been protesting in the first place....it is up for debate i am sure.

  • Solidarity from UCI!

  • vince fillipino welke

  • Idiots! They should ask for a refund from the school, they haven't learned anything. Beat them, lock them up!

  • @bignhairydude Their parents should ask for that refund! haha because you know these kids haven't paid for anything their entire lives.

  • Perfect time to change the whole educational system no more buildings no more busing no more student loans from banks less pollution . All of mans knowledge will be online one day why not now before this powerfull technology is used as a tool of further enslavement of humanity

  • I don't remember this type of protest for more important issues such as wars in Iraq or Afghanistan.

  • welcome to the american police state.

  • Beat your students. That's democracy U.S. style.

  • 32% is outrageous

Congratulations to the students for protesting!

  • dont you just love the smell of fascism in the morning?

  • Martial artists would know how to remove those sticks from the police, and then use them more peacefully...

    We need David Carradine now!

  • I wonder why the police hide their faces as well?

  • Hide their faces as well?....With tranparent face shields used to protect from being attacked by folks who would break the law and call it "peaceable assembly"

  • Well that's obvious powergirl901, the police hide their faces because they're pussies; which is why it incumbent upon protesters and activists NOT to hide their faces...because people who hide their face when they engage in protest are pussies.

And thanks for the -8 thumbs down everybody, here's to you and your tacit approval of cowardly anonymous behavior.

    Hiding face = NO Credibility

    Hiding face = NO Integrity

    Hiding face = Coward

People, wake the hell up and get a spine for God's sake.

  • The board of governors, deans, and administrative staff have no bussiness being in education if they don't do the most important thing an educator needs to do LISTEN TO YOUR STUDENTS!

  • You better believe that police brutality where protesters are concerned is going to get a whole lot worse in the very near future.

  • hahaha Kent State soon?

  • the students didnt get what they want, but they consider it a victor..fail

  • This was beautiful - thanks for sharing.

  • 32% increase? Holy shit.

  • @Innize my little brother says he has to come up with about 6 grand extra

  • @Innize I know. Imagine that on a state wide level. that's a lotta clams.

  • corrupt pigs
