  • i think he uses a little too much "arm" for his playing, but otherwise, the dynamics are very well organized and emphasized, a great performance!

  • I love this piece!

  • @avianexotic 4.3 octave marimba.

  • 5 octave

  • What size marimba is required for this piece?

  • @avianexotic

    One A-marimba

  • Hej super wykonanie !!! dla mnie bomba ... ten utwór ciągnie się za mną od kilku dni bo cały czas go słyszę na uczelni .... gratuluję wygranej z tym utworem :)

  • great performance! I hate it when trains go by during a performance.

  • this kid was 18 years old when he won this thing

  • @SUNSNARE06 Wow. Arkadisusz has some pretty impressive chops for his age at this time.

  • It doesn't matter what the person does when they play...it's how they play it. This is one of the best videos I've found of this.

  • @adampol15 The best video played of it is svet stoyanov and its on the right with the links

  • I would like to ask is he using rattan or birch mallets?

  • cool and stuff, sammut writes towards personal expression and all, but the guy looks - no joke - like a rubber band.

  • @Xelanoux that's a great way to put it.

  • I can't understand why people have a problem with someone moving while playing music. How can you not move? Music is emotional and if you aren't feeling anything, then maybe you should not be performing.

  • really really really nice!!!!!!!!!

  • The trick is to play with emotion. I'm like you; I move around when I play. Awesome! 5/5

  • @Psychokinesismaniac I think playing with emotion is fine and all, but movement to that extent is a bit distracting and unnecessary.

  • @pkim9 Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. I think it was maybe more than just a little overdone.

  • @pkim9 At the end of the day, the actual music is good, he barely missed any notes, and it has musical aspect. Movement should be what you feel. Through his movement, you can see that he's completely relaxed from the head down, which is crucial for some of the trickier sections in this piece.

  • @adampol15 While you say it is crucial for some parts of the piece (I've never played it myself except for a few measures where afterwards I lost interest) you can clearly see excessive movement in all parts of the piece. In contrast, I believe TOO much movement does not represent total relaxation.

  • You are an incredible musician and an incredible exemple for the marimbist! Thanks for these minutes of music! dziękuję Cojones player

  • Absolutely incredible!! This is certainly the best recording of this piece I've found on youtube. Perfect interpertation. Great tempos and dynamics!

  • Where is this competition held, and how old does one have to be to get into it? I would like to know.

This is certainly a great video. It is nice to see how different musicians interpret speed, dynamics, etc. There is another video of Rotation IV on youtube. And there are some differences in speed at some points.

    Again, great job.

  • This is the best video of this piece on youtube I think, yet it has such a low amount of views and comments. Very very good video!

  • good job, congratulations..
