I am currently a student and am taking a After Effects course and had my insturctor tell me I should possibly look into majoring in Multimedia and Animation. Also it would be great if you could give me in advice or tips on what I could maybe do to get started going further into this. @iFlexDesigns I make a pretty good living doing this as a fulltime job. I dont have a family yet. Im working on that with my Fiance at the moment.

When I worked in Hawaii I was working 50-60hr weeks. Ever since I moved to LA, my hours have shifted to 40-50hrs a week.

If I did this as a freelancer, I would probably make more but there is a huge risk. You are not backed with full benefits and there can be major down time in terms of projects rolling in. You have much more free-time though.

@iFlexDesigns Its really speculative if being in front of a computer makes you go blind. Eyestrain will occur but it is usually temporary without any form of permanent damage. Keep in mind that this is not the only job that puts you in front of a computer day in and day out. Watching TV, reading a book and studying will all create the same conditions as if you were in front of a computer monitor. My vision is good enough to the point where I dont need glasses. I cant drive without them though.

@TR0NHACK3R Technically I haven't mastered any of these programs. I know how to use them but mastering is a strong word.

Well it is a combo of several programs. There is Cinema 4D, After Effects, and Lightwave. ALso Illustrator and Photoshop play a huge part in making a lot of the elements.
