    regards

    SA

  • I use this method when i sharpen my kukri

  • nice.....il be getting on this with my axe!!!

My mate cut his thumb on camp with a well sharpened knife like that... and literally cut it in half up to the the thumbs knuckle!....OOOWEEE..

    Watch those pink bits..LOL!!!

  • @switchest26

Well...if the knife was really sharp...Then the cut

should heal alot better as the cut would be pretty straight.

  • @RDPproject deffo!..lets hope so!

I will let you know how my Axe comes on with your tips!.....cheers buddy!

  • know any places to get a strop mate?

  • @nomad400r

If you want a professional one. Get it from a shaving shop.

    Or just make one.

Get a lenght of wood, glue some leather to it. In the search box on here...type in "how to make a strop"

Or you could also just use the back of a real leather belt.

  • Thank you, Thank you, Thank you I have had a Hell of a time getting one knife sharp (Bark River Little Creek) This video solved it. The knife is hair popping sharp now Thank you.

  • Youre welcome, youre welcome,

    youre welcome.

    Glad to be of help.

    Rob.

  • Great vid Bru' I will get on with having a go ( after I visit the car parts shop for the needed sheets) Little Wicket, acts up like my Chihuahua ' Jasper ', he rushes out to have a go at the seagulls that are in the garden sometimes - they immediately gang up on him! : =)

  • Thx mate

  • thanks RDP that does clarify john rambo's vid a bit. Now to see if I can put it in practice. Thanks for the reply

  • Thx mate. As I told JJRamob below.....Use sandpaper from auto paint suppliers....start at grits about the 1000 mark and work upto 1200, 1500 and then 2000. The knife must have a sharp'ish edge on it already tho.

  • brilliant video mate

  • Thx mate. Use paper from auto paint suppliers....start at grits about the 1000 mark and work upto 1200, 1500 and then 2000. Thats for a knife that has a decent cutting edge.

  • nice im likeing the stag on the ckc 5/5 nice vid like always

  • Thx mate. You've seen my vid on how it was made...right?

  • yes

  • lol that begining was epic XD. very informative video though as well! 5/5, I suck at sharpening though, idk why...i just cant for the life of me do it right lol.

  • Start practising Jesse

  • yeah I plan on picking up a good quality set to get started.

  • Set of??? stones?

I only use my strones to shape balde if its needed. I pretty much only use these sheets of 1000, 1200, 1600 and 2000grit now to sharpen. Cost me about $1.20au each.

  • damn not bad o.O meant get a kit/set together of stuff, right now all i have is a small stone, a big one (no clue what grit or anything) and a ceramic block. Will have to find some of the sand paper you use.

  • Find an automotive paint store. They usually have them. Or a really good Hardware store, not all hardware stores carry really fine grits above 1200..
