Cedric is assaulting the religious complex in this song, as in so many others. He even breaks into the chord progression of a Christian Worship Song at the end of this song. It's important to notice what Cedric is saying here, he's accusing the religious complex of murder. "Guillotine smirks."

damn I got to get back on game with my Mars Volta. I got De-Loused by accident the first day it came out. it was the best accident that ever happened to me no doubt. and since I tried to make a tradition of copping their shit the day it came out, and Frances and Amputechture was dope but not as much as De-Loused to me. Amputechture was better tho (Asilos on repeat) so I got that shit on wax. anyways, after I kinda stopped listening for their new stuff, but this track is too dope.
