For gamers like me that have been playing these games since the original clock towers, resident evils silents hills and Fatal Frames, its not scary at all. We're numb. The story in between the dark gameplay is where the comedy is at. Not many games like this one. You should check it out.

@copavida No. Nothing like Silent Hill or Resident Evil. This game in fact makes fun of survival horror games. Just use this video as an example. When he removes the cover from the granny everyone is expecting a corpse or monster but what is it? A stupid card. Then it plays that shocker gotcha sound when you pick the card up. Totally making fun of the genre. This game is entertaining because of its story. You are dying to know who killed Anna, what's going on and it gets nuts towards the end.

I was watching "Two Best Friends Play" this game, and the beginning handgun had limited capacity for the gun but infinite reserve ammo. Is it like that for every gun or is it just so if you run out for the main weapon, you got something reliable to fall back to?

@Zyyler55 Oh Yeah, this game is good. And I'm really particular with my horror games. I do not like the recent Silent Hills or Resident Evils. Although this game is not scary, the sandbox style world (GTA style) and talking with the multiple characters to solve the murders of the town and these weird transitions where the town is infested with zombies that only your character experiences nobody else, makes this game very additive. You want to know what's going on. More mystery than horror.

@MrKeenes Hell no it's not bad. This is real old school controls, the shit I grew up with. Think Cold Fear or Hitman. Your weapons have a lazer that illuminates brightly when you got a headshot so its not hard. The only problem I had was that he constantly holsters his gun so you have to pull it out EVERY TIME you need to kill something.

@Kyoshiro1902, it's hard to say since it is not a traditional survival horror however the few people I know who enjoyed Silent Hill spoke very highly of this game. Also, my mother who enjoys watching silent hill but is too scared to play herself really likes to play Deadly Premonition because to her its scary but not so scary to where she cannot play. This game is quirky, is not a serious horror game, and often makes fun of itself for being so silly. It tries to make you laugh and cry.

@nynosix, this game is nothing like any of those. It's really hard to compare this game to any other because it's so unlike anything I've played. Graphics and the world environment is not realistic (you crash into a bush with your car like it's a wall). You spend more time talking with people in the town than you do actually shooting stuff. It's more about the characters you meet and solving the mystery than actual fear and survival.

Most of the game is interviewing other characters, solving puzzles, riding around town talking to yourself....I promise you you never played nothing like it. The scariest games for me were RE, Silent Hill and Fatal Frame.

@ValtielFollower, you got some high standards. The original Alone in the Dark was a good survival horror game. I have not played the new one so I can't comment on it. Obscure and Obscure Aftermath. You'll like them. I always had a special love for "Cold Fear," an RE rip-off. And, "The Thing." Yes, based on John Carpenter's movie. Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. I mention that game in my Dunwich Building video. Clock Tower, first and third one was good. Was Kuon really a horror game?

@ValtielFollower Condemned is pretty good, but it's not like Resident Evil it's more like Manhunt you can only use your surroundings and everyday objects as weapons but it's really creepy. The overall atmosphere and some of your sense blocked off during the game such as sight, etc. puts you on the edge of your seat. Dead Rising isn't really horror but you get to fight a shit load of zombies and is kinda creepy when it turns to the night-time when the zombie's eyes glow red and there's no light.
