He looks like he is doing fine after the surgery. That is promising to see. If others are nervous about surgery, it is understandable. It should always be the last resort anyway. There are other alternatives such as Reiki, juice fasting and chi kung. Even Feldenkrais movement therapy more recently has shown to rebuild new neural pathways. my brother has dystonia and he's soooo frustrated..he's had it for about 10 years now... he's going to get DBS in a few weeks. Seeing something like this lifts sooo much weight off of my shoulders. Im excited but scared at the same time.

thats so awesomee i have dystonia in my left arm since i was a baby (im 15 now) and with my growing body and puberty its starting to get worse and we are going through different to help the disorder, right now we are just at different medications but i highly doubt it'l work and i really would like to just have some hands on surgery, but my mother says that surgery will only be a last resort. im willing to try everything but anyway just wanted to wish your brother luck!

@surefirewin FALSE. in order for something to be a 'miracle' it has to be miraculous. the DOCTORS knew the treatment worked for parkinsons patients so they thought it would help out dystonia which is a neurological disorder just like parkinsons. its not like one morning the guy just woke up and said "OMG i have no pain! its a miracle!!!" no. he was cured through hard work by the doctors, physicians and HIMSELF. period.

@kittenbut1 i dystonia slowly occurs, slowly debilitates... doesn't happen over night or with a vaccine... she wouldn't be able to put on her make up straight if she had dystonia that badly... BUT supposing she does, then hopefully the dbs helps her

@osubuckeyes14 There are different degrees of dystonia. It also can occur in different parts of the body (neck shoulders, arms legs). For example I have recently been diagnosed with mild dystonia in my neck in which causes I experience a random tensing of the neck muscles and involuntary spasm of the face. This of course can worsen if not treated (I'm being treated with physical therapy and botox). More severe cases would involve involuntary twisting of the neck, spasms, clenching, etc.

my friend has generalised dystonia and has DBS since 6 years, her batteries are off since 2 years but she is completely NORMAL, the doctors says her case is a miracle, she will removes the DBS soon
