No, they are flat changes (no clutch dip) but it cuts the engine power for a fraction of a second during the gear change so it doesn't put too much pressure on the gear box.

@flat0401 It looks like the same set up jgtc cars have. Only the shifter is connected to a bar that goes to the paddle shifter. Pretty good idea too.
