I find Betty CUTE! I love Arlene and I think that Arlene looks like Helen Mirren!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! Please, don't you have any episode with Carolyn Jones?
This could be one of the most perfect clips ever - Allen, Betty, and Arlene, three of my all-time favorites!!! They just don't make shows like this anymore. I miss the days when it was about the game, and having a good time. And you've got the best ones in the business right here in this trio of clips. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this!
This is back when TV stars had class. Arlene Francis was armenian. People actually dressed up to go to a game show audience and Cigarettes sponsored programs.
Lee Falk (Phantom cartoonist) looks like a corpse--he could've given Boris Karloff a run for his money.
Gotta love Allen, Betty & Arlene--they had to be a blast at a cocktail party... and I'll bet Arlene was hotter'n a firecracker back in the day--she sure looks like she woulda been {wolf whistle}. /;-)
WOw. I'm so glad for Youtube that we can watch TV history like this, and it's awesome to see Betty White this young. And I love Arlene Francis old New England accent, such a shame it's died down now.
Betty is beautiful in every way.The humor the looks, the charm, her ability to be a goody-2-shoes and turn right back around and be a hottie with sass. She is timeless, classy and the greatest. Wonderful =)
Hard to believe this CBS studio later became the notorious 1970's disco Studio 54 only a dcade later. Today, of course, Studio 54 is a top Broadway house for the Roundabout Theater. Many TV pros, however, believe that CBS should re-acquire it as a companion studio to the Ed Sullivan Theater, which they re-acquired fir Late Night with David Letterman. Imagine "The $1,000,000 Pyramid" from "Password's" and "What's My Line's" old studio.
Al Capp. Ruined by a charge of (attempted) adultery, reported in my corner as sodomy in 1971. (Attempted) adultery is a felony in Wisconsin. Hope he is doing well. He was an s.o.b. a lot of the time, but had a superb wit.
@MooseShady i'll always remember the encounter between capp and john and yoko when the newlyweds were bedding in for peace. (i think capp referred to her as madam woo. yoko went on about him being her and she being him...or something like that.) ;-)
This "theme show" (originally telecast on May 20, 1965) featured famous comic strip artists and creators as "contestants", primarily because this was directly opposite THE #1 show on Thursday nights at 9pm(et) in 1964-'65, ABC's "BEWITCHED" {"Remember the Main" was the episode airing that evening}.
Interesting. Not as entertaining or fun as What's My Line but what stars! Miss Betty and Miss Arlene! Wow! Thank you for sharing this rarity! Great to see, especially Betty in her earlier television years!

@MrAccordionPimp Really? Arlene Francis was Armenian? If this is rly true, then as a fellow Armenian I'm very impressed =)
sbabe325 1 year ago
@sbabe325 she truly was armenian or 1/2 armenian / Francis was either a stage name of married name

This is awesome to see all these legendary cartoonists! It's also nice to see Betty & Arlene together. What a time capsule!

She was 43 at the time, she looked good at that age.

Betty White might be the best celebrity panelist ever on a TV game show.
I suspect this was a "sweeps" episode, given the airdate.
Too bad the most recent version, "Million Dollar Password", didn't cmomission an updated version of this clsassic theme music.
