  • I find Betty CUTE! I love Arlene and I think that Arlene looks like Helen Mirren!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! Please, don't you have any episode with Carolyn Jones?

  • its funny how back in the day you could say "erect" without the audience laughing.

  • Betty was always too damn smart for her own good-hehhee!

  • Betty White is just so freaking adorable :)

  • Wow, Betty looked really gorgeous then. I love her wavy hair too.^^

  • @artgal80 she's STILL gorgous <3

  • How could the great Betty White not say "construct"?

  • This was 46 years ago and Betty was already saying "at my age".. lol

  • This was a Saturday.

  • This could be one of the most perfect clips ever - Allen, Betty, and Arlene, three of my all-time favorites!!! They just don't make shows like this anymore. I miss the days when it was about the game, and having a good time. And you've got the best ones in the business right here in this trio of clips. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this!

  • This is back when TV stars had class. Arlene Francis was armenian. People actually dressed up to go to a game show audience and Cigarettes sponsored programs.

  • @MrAccordionPimp Really? Arlene Francis was Armenian? If this is rly true, then as a fellow Armenian I'm very impressed =)

  • @sbabe325 she truly was armenian or 1/2 armenian / Francis was either a stage name of married name

  • @MrAccordionPimp That's really amazing. :)

  • @MrAccordionPimp Francis was her middle name.

  • @1122DLAN She was so classy !!!

  • That is the single creepiest voice-over voice ever.

  • @Robynowitz That "creepy" voice over was announcer Lee Vines.

  • This is awesome to see all these legendary cartoonists! It's also nice to see Betty & Arlene together. What a time capsule!

  • She was 43 at the time, she looked good at that age.

  • Betty White might be the best celebrity panelist ever on a TV game show.

I suspect this was a "sweeps" episode, given the airdate.

Too bad the most recent version, "Million Dollar Password", didn't cmomission an updated version of this clsassic theme music.

  • This is like that Dick Clark game show...

  • @lisamaria1972 except that this was around almost 20 years before that Dick Clark game show

  • love it! Thank you for uploading this!

  • I always thought they "borrowed" the theme song from "Swingin' Safari".

  • Lee Falk (Phantom cartoonist) looks like a corpse--he could've given Boris Karloff a run for his money.

Gotta love Allen, Betty & Arlene--they had to be a blast at a cocktail party... and I'll bet Arlene was hotter'n a firecracker back in the day--she sure looks like she woulda been {wolf whistle}. /;-)

  • al capp was cute.

  • Wish they had Arlene and Betty as a team, they would have wiped the floor!

  • @xenafan234 right on

  • What a small world this is! Al Capp with Betty White and Arlene francis in 1965 and 4 years later meets John and Yoko at their bed in for peace.

  • Betty White is beautiful, Al Capp is a douchebag asshole though

  • WOw. I'm so glad for Youtube that we can watch TV history like this, and it's awesome to see Betty White this young. And I love Arlene Francis old New England accent, such a shame it's died down now.

  • Great clip. Betty is the only one still living.

  • For a taste that's SPRINGTIME FRESH! Salem cigarettes! Woo-hoo! hhaahahahaha

  • Arlene plays like there's no tomorrow!

  • :) I love Arlene's wink and little shrug at 0:18-0:20

  • Both Arlene and Betty are both so smart and beautiful. But now I have a craving for a Salem filter cigarettee with that 'springtime fresh' taste.

  • Oh wow, Betty AND Arlene together in a good ol'game show :D Love them both, how great!!

  • Betty is beautiful in every way.The humor the looks, the charm, her ability to be a goody-2-shoes and turn right back around and be a hottie with sass. She is timeless, classy and the greatest. Wonderful =)

  • Hard to believe this CBS studio later became the notorious 1970's disco Studio 54 only a dcade later. Today, of course, Studio 54 is a top Broadway house for the Roundabout Theater. Many TV pros, however, believe that CBS should re-acquire it as a companion studio to the Ed Sullivan Theater, which they re-acquired fir Late Night with David Letterman. Imagine "The $1,000,000 Pyramid" from "Password's" and "What's My Line's" old studio.

  • love arlene and betty.

  • Wow, Betty white in her young days!

  • @ruantengyi My Thoughts exactly. :)

  • "A taste that's Springtime Fresh?!?" Yeah, Springtime for Hitler, perhaps...

  • love the voice..."the password is..."

  • so do I

  • two of my favorite game show ladies!! love it!

  • damn, she actually kinda hot back then

  • She sure was a knockout. Betty was a beautiful woman

  • omg look at betty white! so young! yet she still is just as beautiful now as she ever was!

  • As Betty got older she never lost her beauty

  • Al Capp. Ruined by a charge of (attempted) adultery, reported in my corner as sodomy in 1971. (Attempted) adultery is a felony in Wisconsin. Hope he is doing well. He was an s.o.b. a lot of the time, but had a superb wit.

  • @cusanusnicolas unfortunately, Al Capp is dead.

  • @MooseShady Yes, I liked him.

  • @MooseShady i'll always remember the encounter between capp and john and yoko when the newlyweds were bedding in for peace. (i think capp referred to her as madam woo. yoko went on about him being her and she being him...or something like that.) ;-)

  • lol.. that ad for salem cigarettes shows how different the times were..

  • How much better could a show be: Password, hosted by Allen Ludden with guest stars Betty White and Arlene Francis!!!

  • This "theme show" (originally telecast on May 20, 1965) featured famous comic strip artists and creators as "contestants", primarily because this was directly opposite THE #1 show on Thursday nights at 9pm(et) in 1964-'65, ABC's "BEWITCHED" {"Remember the Main" was the episode airing that evening}.

  • Interesting. Not as entertaining or fun as What's My Line but what stars! Miss Betty and Miss Arlene! Wow! Thank you for sharing this rarity! Great to see, especially Betty in her earlier television years!

  • Love both of these ladies! :)

  • Oh can it get better than this, Betty and Arlene!! :D

  • Three of my favorite people: Allen, Betty, and Arlene :)

  • Love them both-Arlene and Betty.

  • Two of many peoples all time favs---and on the same show at the same time. WOW! All three of these clips are tops.
