american cars are cheap for what you get on the spec sheet. I've had cars made by GM, toyota, nissan and BMW. I'm not going back to a non-german car ever (well, unless there's big improvement). Its the small "oh, thats neat" things on the german car, and the fact that they feel like they're hewn out of granite that makes them special. My E39 M-Sport is the best handling car I have ever driven, yet its also one of the heaviest...

i cant disagree w/ you about you never wanting to go non german again. the balance of a german car is amazing..i was 1who use to think bmw's were overrated n THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE was a corny cliche.. its not, it really is an amazing machine...it takes 1ride behind the wheel to realize its superiority over a domestic...ive also learned that performance isnt just about straight line speed which is what many americans unfortunately still believe just like i did before i bought my first bmw

@throAU I got rid of my 540i because it was little things like "all these dead pixels makes it impossible to read my electronic messages in the gauge cluster" and "why does my rear sun shad have a mind of its own?" The number 1 and 2 spots foor lap times of production vechiles is held by radical which is english, The Srt-8 is the fastes Suv, and you got a lot of performance for not a lot of money, and america do make some great cars. But American cars are known for haveing crap build quiality and they hardly have great warrantys.

Touche` to that, as most American Auto's are shit, but most Radicals aren't street legal in.... well most of the world, so you really can't compare that to vehicles that are. If that's the case, F1 cars are street legal in a few parts of the world, so we should all be bragging about those, but we aren't. Personally I'm a huge TVR fan, Sagaris is one of my favorite vehicles period, but I do own a S/C'd C5 Z06 and a Jeep Wrangler, so on the opposite end, the US also puts out some excellent autos.

I can see where you are coming from, but the point that was made was about US cars lap times on the Nurburgring, and according to the offcials thier  radicals are street legal. I dont belive that all american cars are poor quality, im a fan of a great number of american cars, but you have to pay a lot for the good ones, where in comaprison most, not all, but most euro cars have great build quality from the basic models to the premium ones.

The Cayenne would have a hard time keeping witht he SRt8 on a track, seeing as the srt8 has been set up specificly to nadel well on a track and the cayanne is trying to be a perfromace SUV and a practical SUV at the same time. Teh Cayeenne still has a locking diff, off road suspension and a low range case, while the SRT8 has stiffer suspension and sends 90% of its power to the back wheels

SRT8 quicker off the line, after that the Cayenne is better in every situation including the track. Cayenne suspension is adjustable for 'sport' and also has dynamic control so that is it is absolutely flat in the corners. My '04 turbo doesn't have that option but is an overall better SUV, SRT8 is just a hotrod only.

Really? My father just purchased a 2009 Cayenne Turbo S. This thing is a beast. I was able to get him to race me in my Jeep SRT-8. His Porsche walked me at any speed. The Cayenne, at least the 2009 turbo model, is way faster than my SRT8. Sucks but its true.
