Fruit flies piss me off. Someone in a lab on the same floor as mine does work with them. Heaven help the person that's eating an apple or orange.
Interesting video, although not what I was looking for, I was hoping for more info on the homeobox. There's not much on it this gene sequence, at least in terms of lectures.
Behe and his arguments that were detailed in Darwins black box were beaten down badly when they were brought to court in Dover. In addition his views have not survived peer review.
It's pretty ignorant (or at least, insulting to the viewer) for any biologist to compare biological organisms with material objects even for the sake of illustration.
The creationists' purpose is to emphasize biological complexity in order to show by analogy that there must be a designer.
Darwinists such as McGinnis, however, have a purpose which is exactly opposite. He deceptively acts as if life is extremely simple in order to convince people that it appeared by chance (& n.s.).
He gave a tipoff right before springing the deception by falsely stating that we're "no smarter than" they were 50-200 years ago. Read "Darwin's Black Box" by Behe.
CHEMRISK - a research company hired by the Corn Refiners Association has recently taken down it's YouTube channel.
The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the discovery of dangerous levels of MERCURY in HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.

Regardless of past evidence including current observations, the fossil record and selective breeding, genetic evidence for evolution is overwhelming. This new link with embryology has provided even more ways to look at evolution and phylogeny.
Feel free to argue with ideas from 120 years ago. No biologist has agreed with Haeckel's drawings or ideas for decades, lest they be uneducated! The fact is that evolutionarily linked species share common features early in EMBRYONIC development.
And yes, the mathematics DO ADD UP, when you take into account all relevant factors, like mutation, plasmid transfer (bacteria), sexual recombination, and simply using the same old genes in new ways...see the work of Sean Carroll. All of course via natural selection.

pft what a hoax. its already been proven the Haekles diagram was a gross exageration. what the video doesnt tell us is that mathmatitions say the numbers for human evolution do not add up... there are some serious flaws in this presentation.

Sloppy thinking, and worse analysis. We have arrived at an age where the uninitiated cannot judge, and ideologies determine initiation. However, something anyone can check on, it being a very simple matter, is the difference between Haeckel and von Baer.
But even that was too much for the Great Scientist of this video. Draw what conclusions you may, but do not take the word of experts until you have determined the truth for yourself, and good luck.
I think it is excellent that you are considering these contradictory ideas. Being able to challenge your current dominant views is a difficult but transformative task!
And your post is a year old, i wonder how far you have come now.

My grandfather was a Presbyterian minister and he believed in evolution. He often said science tells you how and the Bible tells you Who.

@rapton Yeah Behe isn't even really a legitimate scientist, church funding is the only reason he has any kind of recognition.

it is like comparing engineering to emotions and stupid evolutionist are happy to do that.

But it's okay when a creationist does it, the comparison of an organism to a watch and painting.

The world of human beings was always, in history, dominated by delusions... Believe things have changed at your own risk.
