Last night my xbox was working fine, kickin ass on reach, later on my mum switched the hdmi to her laptop. This morning i switch back and on my screen says "Out Of Range". I tried all the hdmi slots on my tv -- still doesnt work. I took out all the cables and plugged everything back into the xbox -- didnt work. I got out a new hdmi cable we havent used yet, tried that, in all slots, and didnt work. Is it my xbox? Or am i just stupid? :)

1. don't use it standing vertical

2. make sure all cables in the back are all plugged in fully as not doing so will give you the red lights

I had one red light come on my elite the other day. It had E74 error on the screen. I called xbox and they said if it's 1 or 3 lights they will fix for free as they have extended the warranty to 3 years on 1 and 3 red lights. I'm in the UK. Mine left for Germany this morning to get fixed.

i somewhat agree with you, i have had the RRoD twice, and a disk read error, the disk read error occurred to the last refurb console i received back from microsoft, not even a month after i got it, and they wouldn't fix it, not for free at least, now i won an arcade edition, and haven't had any problems with it... and i currently own a PS3 as well, and owned a wii until a few weeks ago, 360 is the one i use most for video games, and some streaming netflix, PS3 is for blu-ray

I actually have an Elite and it has the same problem. The cool part is I still have 2 months of warranty left. The Elite is impervious to the 3 red lights, but falls to the 1 red light. Microsoft gives 3 year warranty for 3 years, and 1 year for everything else, even though the 1 ring and the three rings mean the same thing, that the graphics card and CPU has been busted/dislocated. I get my coffin in 2 days...
