  • Good job KevRus! There were some really nice moments in this piece and you played it well technically. I would have to agree that the left hand was too much although this may be the piano. And it did seem to feel very "chunky" and in 3/4 rather than the big two feel of 6/8.. Check out Rollin Wilbers interpretation

  • You play it better than I can play it. It's not an easy piece, for sure. Thanks for posting.

  • haha... hell.... encouraging... haha...

great piece, hope i get good enough to play some gottschalk one day.

  • Nice one.

The left hand is far too dominating and you play this in 3/4 and not 6/8 time, as the composer wanted. A bit more dynamics and agogics would work wonders. Two passages are to be played "celeste", which means "heavenly". Your interpretation sounds like hell broke loose.

You can play the right notes - now start making music!

  • In terms of dynamics, the piano was really old and terrible at this recital, and it basically would not sound if I tried playing softly, so I did the best I could.

I thought I emphasized the compound meter pretty well...

Thanks for the hell simile though, it's definitely encouraging. :D

  • im also playing this now, but the 3rd line (when both hands switch) is hardddd lol

  • Well played, first time I have heard this piece, really enjoyed it!

  • Good job! Ya! Woo-hoo! Go Kevin! :D
