most countries have had so many health issues & monopoly problems with GE crops theyve banned them... its only the greedy US & now EU who are willing to risk their civilians lives & the state of the environment, for the sake of a short term financial pay off... hatians are wise, theyre burning all GMO crops donated to them as they realise its a scam & a health risk... i beg farmers in US/EU to do the same, for the sake of us all

Health is one very small component of the problem: corporate monopoly is a huge problem, unless you are okay with corporate control and being told what you can and cannot eat.

There is far more to the story than your small arguments.

It is NOT true that Indian people need a GMO food from developed countries. It is NOT true that they are lack of food supplies. Poverty exist because of the monetary system of such country, that is the very main reason. When their money is devalued, the prices go up. And more & more people will have to lower down their standard of living, eventually poor. Because of this, they're overpriced at their local markets. Dis makes them poor from a developed nations, now they start to aid them with GMO!

You are so mistaken. Have you ever been to India? Have you ever talked to the farmers in India? My background is Indian. My family for generation have been farmers in India(yes, by caste). Most of the Indian farmers don't even have enough land to produce enough for their own family, let alone sell extra crop for profit. Blue blooded Intellectuals like Shiva, who are born in upper strata of the society, should not take her anti-corporation agenda to the masses and deny them the technology.

Where is the voice of the farmers? They want to develop GM crops. Why aren't their voices heard? All the greenpeace dudes from the first world countries, see their own selfish political agenda before the masses, bunch of hypocrites! Yes, poverty exists in India for a lot of different reasons but that is not to say that GMO wouldn't help them at least in getting rid of vitamin deficiencies and to improve their life at least a little. The issue of GMOs are not about they can feed the entire world's population, that's a lie! The issue of GMOs are about bio-technology companies of making easy profits and ignoring the very serious issue of health and food here. When corporate bio=-tecno companies are masquerading what food that people should eat, then it is disturbing. What I am saying is, family farms are much better and healthy to the population. Caste system sure sucks indeed. There is no wrong with corporations, as long it is not capitalist-monopoly. You do not get what is GMO are you? GMO crops are not natural crops, they are pesticide crops againsts bugs and many other. If they eat such GMOed crops, they might die and get a seizure after eating GMOed crops. Do you know why? Because inside that crops are not natural, they are engineered to fight against pests & bugs. If people are eating this crops, they might not die but get disease!

I have been eating GMO (BT Corn, canola oil) for over 10 years now. Nothing is wrong with me, or I am yet to see a peer reviewed scientific journal to show me otherwise. GMO crops are highly regulated and go through million dollars worth of testing. You have a lot of misinformation, from the internet I see. Do some proper unbiased research!!

It is only highly regulated by the government's health agency, not independent private research. They spent million bucks to bribed and falsify private research. @statickk14 there are many new reviews showing the dangers of GMO coming to light... one russian study shows that they can cause infertility in offspring after 1 or 2 generations and random mutations in genes that cause liver problems etc...

can you show me a broad unbiased and long term review of the effect of GMOs on the ecosystem and mammals etc... because ive seen very little evidence GE foods have been tested properly in the long term (especially considering evolution spends millions of years perfecting our genes, so long term studies are very important)

If I could, I would purchase Dr. Shiva's natural seeds over any genetically modified seed more readily available. I'm still waiting for my country's Government to require genetically modifieds foods to be labelled as such in our grocery stores! I'm angry that this has not happened yet. I'm disappointed that my Gov't. allows big chemical companies to hide their GM products (food) within the rest of the all natural foods in stores! This should not be allowed. Why do they HIDE in this way?
