yay for colin baker! he was nice enough to provided the voice for our new sci-fi comedy audio-book. if you have the time to check out some of our videos/animation and let us know what you think that would be great!
I dont know why, but in tom baker and peter davidson's Era on doctor who, this music seemed to be synched into the timing of the stars travveling past the camera. In this title sequence, it seems to be out of synch, and dominic glynn's title sequence theme seemed to be synched. Very wierd and complicated.
well they are on the original episodes. Check the synch with the stars near the end! The final "whoosh" and then the explosion seem in perfect synch with what's happening on the screen.
It's the same as the Peter Davison closing theme, or do you not have that either? They pitch shifted the opening theme down a tiny bit but the closing theme was left the same.
btw, why, in the Tom Baker and Peter Davison starfield titles, do the stars move in tandem with the music whereas it only happens near the end with this one. I suspect it could have something to do with the fact that the picture is still when the "sting" at the start of the closing music plays whereas the picture is moving at the sting.

Colin Baker looks like the original Willie Wonka from the non-scary version of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...
I loved it when Colin Baker was The Doctor.. He was my favorite Doctor.. until David Tennant. ^^

I always felt sorry for Colin Baker... a great Doctor who was treated horribly by the BBC.

The best closing of any of the 80 - 86 era themes was part $ of Logopolis with the blurring of Tom Baker's face after the regeneration scene.

I don't think they were too bothered about totally synching the music and the movement of the doctor. It looks all right to me, anyway.

Colin Baker looks like Willy Wonka(not Johnny Depp).

Great stuff! This theme tune is one that really is exciting... It's like rock music!
DoctorWhoLeelaFan 3 years ago
yes its exciting and makes your adrinaline go up just like the doctor who series 4 theme

Indeed! It has to be one of those theme songs that's about as variable as a working TARDIS chameleon circuit.

Ah! Good one! =D.

Get this; if you lower the pitch on this theme, it comes out like some rock music! Quite cool!

I know this is the proper closing, but the stars seem a bit out of synch with the music unlike the 4th or 5th doctor's closing.

The Trial of a Timelord Closing was better with it's dreamlike music and freaky high pitched sounds, this is quite good though.
