As an American I can safely say this, people of other countries get their impressions of America from the media, politicians, and arrogant American tourists (probably arrogant yankees who we don't like in the South either). I have traveled abroad throughout my life and tried very hard to be on my best behavior and had no problems what so ever. I have experienced French arrogance firsthand and it seems to be a deserved reputation in some cases. I don't think the French like the English either.

As an American I can safely say this, people of other countries get their impressions of America from the media, politicians, and arrogant American tourists (probably arrogant yankees who we don't like in the South either). I have traveled abroad throughout my life and tried very hard to be on my best behavior and had no problems what so ever. I have experienced French arrogance firsthand and it seems to be a deserved reputation in some cases. I don't think the French like the English either.

Then he became a French officer and later the French chief of state, to reestablish law, order and propsperity in this country. Besides, it seems that you are confusing "the very strong anger" of a few Corsican independantists with the feeling of the vast majority of Corsicans, who have always been among the best French patriots. For many Corsicans (like some of my friends), independance is a matter of joke. in 2003 a referendum clearly expressed the Corsicans's will to remain French.
