Nice improvement on the maps by goolgle. Most of the features are copied from OVI Maps. However, it still does not have the free turn by turn navigation available on OVI Maps.

@W0LVER1NE My Nexus One came with Froyo out-the-box. Its not a Froyo issue it's a hardware issue. The multi-touch display on the N1 doesn't support the rotation feature.

@W0LVER1NE I don't know, I have Android 2.1 on my Galaxy S Fascinate and I have version 5.1 installed. That said, the gpu and hardware on the Nexus S and my phone are nearly identical save the NFS chip and the front-facing camera yet I still can't get the squiggly thing to do a 180 degree rotation (the red/gray line on the top left corner).

this is pretty incredible. in a few years, google maps could become be absolutely breathtaking with live 3d views of the whole world. Dedicated GPS systems would be dead because of this feature.

well done, but still nokia maps are much better with their preloaded maps. Now downloading needed if you are example abroad, where data costs can be very expensive.

@myairjs On the first look I also thought they were strange but it makes sense when you take the map and pull it downas if it was lying and showing buildings. I missed those 3d buildings but I know there aren't many cities with information.
