  • This is a very cool app

  • is this ever coming to the iphone 4?

  • @Niqbal87 I doubt it cause Apple is working on its own version of Google Maps

  • Works great on my HTC Inspire 4g! I had no idea how to use the compass until watching this vid. Thanks!

  • o god somebody help me google nexus s or iphone 4 im so confused about what i should get

  • Nice improvement on the maps by goolgle. Most of the features are copied from OVI Maps. However, it still does not have the free turn by turn navigation available on OVI Maps.

  • I can do many things with two fingers, and it doesn't involve a phone.

  • Garmin Oregon 400t - Outdoor Navigationssystem das ist ein gutes navi, es ist sehr variabel. sucht doch mal bei ebay da gibts geniale angebote.

  • Hey, very nice review!

I'm thinking of getting one Nexus S. CUrrently I have one Magic.

What do you think about the performance of the Nexus S?

    And overall?

    Thanks a lot

  • so how much does it cache? Is it like a radius around the last wifi spot you connected from? Because i really would like to download the maps because i don't have a data plan.

  • 确实牛逼

  • how far can you zoom in with the sattelite imagery turned on?

  • So am I right in saying that this rotation feature only works on Gingerbread/Nexus S?

  • I can't get the squiggly thing on the top left to (the red/gray thing) to rotate/spin on my Galaxy S fascinate.

  • visit : misophones . com

  • 3d buildings??

  • Does this work on the droid x?

  • @Lebronsprodigyy

yes, go to the market, type in google maps and download the update

  • What in the world?

    Google maps tracks your rotation?

Was that a feature that existed prior to 5.0?

    REALLY neat.

--it's too bad cache is still so expensive that it can't contribute 250 Mb

of memory along with 250 Mb RAM. That would be killer.

  • Too bad the rotate function doesn't work on the Nexus One.

  • @Shawshank00 This function works in Android 2.2 (Froyo) and above, so update your Nexus One to this version.

  • @W0LVER1NE My Nexus One came with Froyo out-the-box. Its not a Froyo issue it's a hardware issue. The multi-touch display on the N1 doesn't support the rotation feature.

  • @W0LVER1NE I don't know, I have Android 2.1 on my Galaxy S Fascinate and I have version 5.1 installed. That said, the gpu and hardware on the Nexus S and my phone are nearly identical save the NFS chip and the front-facing camera yet I still can't get the squiggly thing to do a 180 degree rotation (the red/gray line on the top left corner).

  • sounds like tom green

  • phhs locations already does this

  • this is pretty incredible. in a few years, google maps could become be absolutely breathtaking with live 3d views of the whole world. Dedicated GPS systems would be dead because of this feature.

  • is this update only for android or?

  • @ndelima14 only for android.

  • @ndelima14 of coarse, what kind of a dumbass now a days would have anything but an android device

  • @bmxnolan

    >What dumbass

    >coarse

  • 0:20 "what you can do with two fingers" =)

idk why, but that's what she said.

  • @jchang911 hooray!

  • pretty cool. I wonder why the 3D view doesn't work

  • well done, but still nokia maps are much better with their preloaded maps. Now downloading needed if you are example abroad, where data costs can be very expensive.

  • google software is superb

  • Wait, how do i get it? i searched it at the market, but couldnt find one by google. I use a Nexus one with 2.2.1.

    Please help.

  • @GabrielKnightz If you are outside of the USA you might have to use Market Enabler ( download from the market)

  • That's sweet

  • I thought I'd seen where Google was going to start using vectored images instead of bit map for their maps. Perhaps that will be in a version yet to come.

  • Nice update. I have just been playing around and find the controls very natural and intuitive

    Top marks

  • Beautiful!

  • This is really cool!

All i just need a Google map to get me to my destination. =P

  • thats really cool

  • that ilt gestures for the 3d mode should be swiched around in my opinion.

  • @myairjs tilt"

  • @myairjs On the first look I also thought they were strange but it makes sense when you take the map and pull it downas if it was lying and showing buildings. I missed those 3d buildings but I know there aren't many cities with information.
