  • I did this in High School in '88, 89 & 90 when we still had ROTC as a class, we went 3 years in a row, and it was a fantastic time.

  • omg i was a navy leager when i was in 6th grade i rember this!!!!! sigh- i wish i could do it again only this time i would be a sea cadet!

  • My NJROTC class went to DCS today. We got soaked!

  • kinda funny secertly i wan't to join ther army and i am a sea cadet oh well I used to wan't to join the navy but now go army well no one I know will see this comment but sea cadets is cool but still go army (cadet???????)(divison???)

  • @lexie2795

I was in the Fresno Battalion for several years myself and was CC for Charlie Co. and I am signing into the army as HUMINT in April myself, our battalion commander went marines and i believe another of the older members is in the air force now, don't let them pressure you into the navy and don't feel shameful for wanting to join the army! all the branches are here to serve and protect.

  • @IhaveAhorse1 im central coast lol

  • This is not the last free floating trainer, there is one at NS Mayport.

  • @hgroberts realy? i didnt know that im 11 so im joining its gonna be fun i bet

  • @jmoney3599 it will be amazing! i did it and loved it!!!!

  • Damage Control & Shipboard Fire Fighting is quite fun. I've been on the Pride of Michigan for 3 years now, thankfully we haven't had to use our training.

  • HT2 Scott USS CORONADO AGF-11

  • I was an HT2 back in 85 and I would have made every one of your sorry asses do it over and do it right. With the proper training you would save the ship. We went through this time and time again and taught the crew, timeand time again, how to fight fires, flooding, chemical, biological and nuclear attacks/fall-out. Glad you had fun but you should've done it 'till you learned it.

  • @painyck and who are you? why are you calling them asses? huh?

  • @painyck dude there only cadets most changes they wont even be aloud to do that at there unit i know were not in australia navy cadets. if they joint the navy then yes they would have to learnt it proply

  • I did this on a NJROTC Trip alot of fun but we failed and would have sank if it was a real ship

  • I was a part of this class when this was shot, and it

was also my last training before i left sea cadets, it was awesome!

  • If anyone is going Submarines, no matter your rate, officer or enlisted, you will know this shit. go through so many trainers...

  • butter cup lol

  • yeah i did this twice. it was fucking fun. i loved every second of it. NJROTC is where its at. former CO on the page. Rep it, Navy. I'm off to the real USN--not soon enough though :) Hooyah

  • Hey CO this is not NJROTC.

This is Sea Cadets. (USSCC) part of (USCAP) United States Cadet Alliance Program.

  • just bc i was in njrotc doesnt mean we didnt complete the same training, mr bigshot sea cadet....same training, same same shit in this sense. if you want to get into it im sure i could outshine your old sea cadet shit

  • Ahh, the Buttercup.

    Good times.

  • christ i did it today it was damn cold as well, we use alot of wooden shoring though

  • do they still do this training?

  • I did this at Navy League Cadet (FDR Squadron) Boot Camp back in 1987 it looks pretty much exactly as I remember it. Was really fun.

My job was the bucket on the hole in the wall. It was the first thing done but then I couldn't help with the rest cause I had to stand guard to make sure nobody impaled themselves on the rod sticking out of the bucket.

At the beginning before the torpedo we also did a part where we got strafed by a fighter and had to hit the deck.

  • USS Buttercup - Buttercup? strange name for a naval ship lol

  • Its what they call the Dmage control simulator thing.

  • For basic leadership training in my NJROTC unit I did this, and it was amazing.

  • ahhyes, damagecontrol,,, funbut cold, greetings from canada's sea cadets

  • man buttercup is not cold at all .... its not warmer then a pool .... but hailfax... now thats cold !!

  • Our cadets are doing this in December or January i think, im in the John Demptster Trenton Division USNSCC (New Jersey) Im pumped.

  • Been there done that!

  • I did this with Falcon (providence) NETC (newport) and NCBC (Quonset) it is insane

  • Sweet

  • bravo zulue guys

  • 78 degrees F? When I did this I was in water that was COLD! You could hardly move because your joints seized up. Why were people standing around? Hehe, they'd move if it was sub-freezing temperautres... doesn't help when you have leaky boots. BTW, im a candian cadet...

  • same here they got it easy im in 135 rcscc adermail nells

  • adermail nells? Where's that?

  • This is controlled chaos. I trained on this in high school back in 1990. THIS IS NOT EASY, we did about 4 rotations that day, and it was a memorable experience. I wish I could participate in it again.

If anything is learned from this, it is that you all have to work as a team to accomplish your goal.

  • 7 Zulu Qinc USSNSCC SALEM
