It is so wonderful to have the chance to hear him early in his career. You can see the essence of his voice is there and shining through. As a performer you can get bogged down in the idea of perfection and forget that we all start as pearls that change color and luminesence with age. : )
I was read somewhere that in this production "the conductor was pretend to be Toscanini, the others was did what they can but Rodolfo is already the of Pavarotti's one - the best after the 2nd Wolrd War". I'm completely agree! (and sorry for my English)
