Authorities argue that the general public are incapable of evaluating these situations and why the RCMP should investigate themselves. They lied about Robert attacking them. They knew they crossed the line directly leading to his death and now they are trying to cover their hinnies. The process of how this country investigates the acts of the police MUST be changed.

There have been 100's of taser deaths over the past few years. Tasers are anything BUT "non-lethal". THey are slowly turning our police force and now military into sadistic torturers. Most taser incidents are totally unnecessary. This one too. THere are 6 RCMP's for one man. THey could have easily taken him.

All I have to say is that was very wrong. From what I saw, the man was out of control, yes, but there wasn't ANY need to use a tazer. There were more than enough officers there to subdue him and take him into custody. From my point of view he did not look like a threat to anyone. Maybe a few pieces of REPLACEABLE machinery, but that's it. My opinion is that it was some rookie cop who just wanted to try out their stun gun and saw a good opportunity to use it.

Guy was throwing and breaking airport property, im suprised they didn't come down on him sooner. One thing though, they should have tried to subdue him physically first, instead of going right to the tazer. Tazer should only be used when suspects are throwing punches or are steadfastly not moving, not getting into a prone position. They only gave him like 15 seconds.

Though this case is a very sad one and a tazer should not have been used. It seemed a much better use of a tazer then many videos of cops tazering people. Tazer should be used as a it was designed, as sub-lethal force. People need to realize that it was design to reduce the need to draw a gun. If a cop could use a gun and uses a tazer instead it can save lives. But it is far to often used as a safe way to apprehend a suspect that posed no real treat to the cops or public.

I may have missed the boat of giving opinions... but the tazer was not nessary... the man was irate, confused and enraged in confusion, there were FAR better alternatives to tazing him, raise your hands, give calming gestures, he doesn't appear mentally ill, he just seems really out of place, though the response of restraining with tazer and "knee to the neck" was a poor choice. The police did thier job and did it well, but could have done better.
It took me this long to get throught the complicated extensive "MENTAL HEALTH" process to get her sectioned. Fortunately it all ended well for "JOANNA". It became evident that she had been in a mental institution for 18 months in Poland and had not taken her medication for 3 months. It is easy to pre judge officers on a piece of videos footage. Most incidents are from excited delirium... when your heart is beating so fast that once you are confined or placed in cuff you can expend then energy and your heart stops. The tazer again only carries as much charge as a static carpet charge and is used hundreds of times aday in training and real world situations without deaths. Tazers are less that lethal not non-lethal. Nothing is non-lethal other than words and sometimes words can not be used.

The situation created by this man has put him in a position where his life was in danger & due to the violent nature, of course there is a high likely hood that someone is going to get hurt or die. TAZERS have been used by police for many years & have saved lives. These are not reported, because nothing creates ratings like death when the police are involved.

There have been 100's of taser deaths over the past few years. Tasers are anything BUT "non-lethal". THey are slowly turning our police force and now military into sadistic torturers. All I have to say is that was very wrong. From what I saw, the man was out of control, yes, but there wasn't ANY need to use a tazer. There were more than enough officers there to subdue him and take him into custody. From my point of view he did not look like a threat to anyone. Maybe a few pieces of REPLACEABLE machinery, but that's it. My opinion is that it was some rookie cop who just wanted to try out their stun gun and saw a good opportunity to use it.

One thing though, they should have tried to subdue him physically first, instead of going right to the tazer. Tazer should only be used when suspects are throwing punches or are steadfastly not moving, not getting into a prone position. They only gave him like 15 seconds.

Though this case is a very sad one and a tazer should not have been used. It seemed a much better use of a tazer then many videos of cops tazering people. Tazer should be used as a it was designed, as sub-lethal force. People need to realize that it was design to reduce the need to draw a gun. If a cop could use a gun and uses a tazer instead it can save lives. But it is far to often used as a safe way to apprehend a suspect that posed no real treat to the cops or public.

It took me this long to get throught the complicated extensive "MENTAL HEALTH" process to get her sectioned. Fortunately it all ended well for "JOANNA". It became evident that she had been in a mental institution for 18 months in Poland and had not taken her medication for 3 months. It is easy to pre judge officers on a piece of videos footage. Treating people like animals(eskdi)sometimes there is no reasoning with certain individuals,trust me Ive been there.Two weeks ago I spent 9 hours trying to deal with a mentally diturbed polish woman.

I agree with "williamiscrazy"&"arcon911"the man was obviously mentally disturbed.I myself have dealt with dozons of mentally disturbed POLISH in the UK over the last 2 years.I speak Serbo/Croat(learnt in the Army),but even with that language skill it is extremely difficult dealing with mentally ill people. Anybody with half a brain must realise that you/we/the public cannot allow potentially dangerous/disturbed individuals to behave in this manner.

Holy crap people most of you got to realize that everyday police are tazered during training and there are not deaths from tazer. Most incidents are from excited delirium... when your heart is beating so fast that once you are confined or placed in cuff you can expend then energy and your heart stops. Tazers are safe, people who need to be tazered aren't.

Negative it makes my point. Look at him lack of sleep, sweating, scared, his heart is probably beating a mile a minute. The x26 tazer has as much juice (50000 volts) as a static carpet shock. It was his heart and condition he was in that lead to his death not the actual tazer. Now some would like a person to be allowed to throw crap around an enclosed area... until you or your kids get hit by a chair. He needed to be stopped and being tazer (personal experince) is better that phyical assult

Uhhh yeah I treat people who threaten the safety of others or themselves with force. The least amount of force nessecary but enuff that I get to go home uninjured. The tazer again only carries as much charge as a static carpet charge and is used hundreds of times aday in training and real world situations without deaths. Tazers are less that lethal not non-lethal. Nothing is non-lethal other than words and sometimes words can not be used.

my friend lives out of town and drives a large loud old truck, most likely why this cop targeted him, my friend was picking up groceries and then driving home. cop told him he was 130 in a 50 zone in full on S-bends. this truck has got three fuckin gears it wont even do 100Km/h, let alone uphill through tight corners.... My point is cops are fucked, sooo god damn power tripped its fucking scary, in my town i would sooner trust drug dealers, and drunk bums than the police.

but they aren't exactly familiar with the airport and your waiting in the wrong place even though you are only like 2 rooms away, and no one will help you, think you might get a bit agitated? dont forget you have been on a plane for like 10 fuckin hours. This tazer death is just one death that has surfaced, becuase of its international status because the victim was foreign, and it took place in an airport! there have been many other innocent deaths in canada committed by the police. and unlike this incident involving a tazer people have been strait up fuckin shot! in one incident the cop shot a young man who had been arrested

and a local ball game or hockey game, for guess what 1 open beer, they brought him in and one of the cops executed him, they said there was an altercation and he shot in self defense... now wait a fucking minute how do you shoot someone in the back of the head when he is attacking you? unless for some fucked reason you wrap your arm around put the gun on the back of his head (now the gun would be pointed at you aswell )

So... basically as with the last big tazer incident, it's a mixture of police over-reaction and criminal douche-baggery on the part of the "victim."
This guy was clearly in poor health and possibly mentally ill. It's so easy to judge behind a viewfinder, but when you're there and you have some gorilla in your face getting antsy, the reasons not to use a tazer melt away pretty quick. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but it was a mistake that ended tragically.

This poor guy didn't die from a Tazer, he died from that cops knee on his throat. As fast as that guys heart was beating having a knee crushing your trachea and windpipe you'd pass out in under 10 secnds and be seriously oxygen deprived within a minute. If his trachea was damaged he would need immediate arirway care by medics to save his life. Idiots. Taze then cuff. Don't sit on the poor bastard.

The situation created by this man has put him in a position where his life was in danger & due to the violent nature, of course there is a high likely hood that someone is going to get hurt or die. TAZERS have been used by police for many years & have saved lives. These are not reported, because nothing creates ratings like death when the police are involved.
