Although the sound has been disabled, this video was very lovely. I agree that 15 years after his passing, Mr. Larson would be proud to see his masterpiece become a magnum opus and successful art that will and forever continue to inspire everyone. And he is still smiling even after RENT has closed its doors.
i got into jonathan larson just recently... he was an extraordinary person in ordinary surroundings... its funny to me how much his work rings true with everyone
very nice. I was unfortunatley, born after Johnathan's death, so I couldn't see the early rent cast. I've become obsessed with RENT in about 8th or 9th grade (which is around four or five years ago). I know 98% of the spoken & sung words. =]
And, too bad about the audio. I'm sure it was a good song!
You said you were born after Jonathan Larson's death (1996), and then you said 8th or 9th grade was four five years ago, which would mean your somewhere around 19 or 20 years old.......?
Really? That just showed pictures from rent..... johnathan larson did more then just rent..... and those were just photos from the movie.... he wrote more than just rent... BEFORE you make a video or a "Tribute" Accually learn about the person...
believe me, i know all there is to know about him. i know he wrote tick...tick...BOOM! and all the other stuff (which i love btw) but i think rent is what made him a legend.
after all, if it wasnt for rent, you probably wouldnt even know his other works existed, and neither would a lot of other people.
WOW!!! you take criticism well... I now get what you are saying... I pisses me off when people say they love Jonathan Larson but they only know rent... I'm like "He did a hell of alot more then that".. I actually found out about him because my friend handed me a copy of the script from Tick, tick Boom, read it, loved it, and researched him. Sucks he died.. Im a playwright so I read Plays...He was defenatly one of the better writers ive come across.
1. i love how u said the ability to read is required idk y but i did <3
2.he didnt just change musicals, he changed lives, he gave people a sence of hope and love from his music =]
3. its good and bad that he left, good-he wouldnt have delt with the stress good and all the lawyers and stuff(from what i read) and bad...well u get it
4. stephen sontime (spelling) was his hero and for him to get that was amazing
thank you, i tend to make good points on everything, we had to debate in class once and every1 wanted me on there side cuz they said i could give good points on everything wether i opposed it or not =]
Jonathan Larson changed my life. I felt somewhat distante from everyone else, and I wanted to find a way to escape that but I didn't know how. Then I saw Rent and I felt that by staying cut off from everyone, it was ruining my life. I needed to 'forget regret' because theres 'no day but today' now I live my life enjoying it, living as though each moment could be my last. I live each day as it is, good or bad. Thanks to Jonathan Larson, without Rent I would still be sitting alone. Thank you JL.
I just got in from watching the show that is your amazing legacy on tonight, the 12th anniversary of your death. Thank you thank you thank you for leaving us the gift of rent. Thank You Jonathan Larson. Rest in Peace.
