Here she is able to express the heartbreaking reality of loving someone who belongs to someone else, and the strength required to recognize that reality, and know you deserve more than just a tourist someone there to enjoy the view for a short time before returning home again. Congratulations Sarah you moved me deeply from the first time I heard this piece.

What an incredibly sultry voice...coupled with lyrics that guarantee that she can please...I can picture a lounge in the city with this beautiful lady and voice while I reminisce the first time I met my wife...where I thought I wouldnt be lucky enough to see her again. Slean's lyrics are always wonderfully creative, but I never quite understand them - her she seems happy to sleep with a married guy ("you can stay the night") as long as he doesn't claim to love her? Seems sort of hypocritical to castigate him so harshly if that's what's up. Also, why is loving but lying "wishing"? I'm sure I just don't get what's going on.
It's about how he wishes he loved the narrator of the song (not necessarily Sarah) but it's a lie because he really loves the woman he's actually with and cheating on. She's basically letting him make his own mistakes with her body as long as he doesn't bring her emotions into it. Basically she doesn't want to play games, she just wants a simple screw and that's it. Once he's done he's gotta get the hell out and back home. Does my interpretation make any sense?
