This video is completely pointless if it is trying to give props to the Xterra. I own a 79 cj7, and have had many other jeeps. I just bought a Nissan Xterra, but the jeep is the far better vehicle. In this video, in never shows the Xterra up to its wheel wells in water like the other vehicles. In every other obstical the Xterra went over or through, so did the other vehicles. I guarantee the Xterra would have never made it through that big water hole, or that rut that caught the Jeep and Ford.

If you had a properly designed IS installed on say the Xterra (with external fluid reservoir and extra travel) the IS setup would beat the solid axle. But you are correct that in stock setup the solid axle of the Jeep should out-preform the IFA of the Xterra, though that has it's limits too as the camber of a solid axle doesn't stay as a IS does.

You can't compare the xterra to a cherokee. Solid axle vs. IFS... SA will always win. Comparing the X to the Grand Cherokee is more realistic and IMHO, the X wins there based on MY EXPERIENCE. Had the REAL cherokee had A/T or M/T tires, it would have been pulling all of the others out. It's just how it is. But I'll still take my X over any of them.

My dad bought a 2001 Nissan Xterra (manual). For just 7 years of service is a bad SUV. The starting engine and the alternator keeps breaking very often; the interior plastic parts are always getting loose and also if you go to a Nissan dealer it's hard to find parts for an Xterra. The chasis was designed for the old 90's Frontier (a small pick-up truck) not for a SUV, so if you are a passenger you will hurt your back in a while.

lol i have the same jeep, but i took off the ugly ass rubber and red stripe, put a 3 inch lift on it and i have 15x8 soft 8's with 31x10.5" dunlop mudrovers

is your xterra a manual cause if it is go easily on the back of the car stuck in the mud and push it out but still in front of the car that si stuck it also has to be towed.
