Jimmy Hendrix, American Guitarist, born in Seattle, Washington. It's a bit awkerd comparison according to Britain Anthem Brian May was playing for his own country. It's not about who plays better. Brian May is one of the best guitarist in your country, isn't he? You must be proud to have him.
Brian May is undoubtedly a very skilled guitarist but he could have insisted on extending the anthem a bit using his artistry to produce a variation somewhere within it and therefore use its potential for a more exciting rendition.
He just played it straight;
