  • Killer performance, best punk band Ever. this was meant to be the A-side but Chiswick figured 'No One' was more palatable and would get airplay.

  • Johnny Moped - one of the undiscoverd treasures of Punk. Great lad, fine band - I'm proud to have that on vinyl.

  • great song, still gives me a buzz,my device is nearly ready, grab her neck and hold her steady...

  • moped kicks ass! takes me back a few years

  • fuckin' great

  • still got the vinyl :-)

  • My favorite band . They used to be real gems like this in the punk world but sadly no one does anything that doesn't sound like the next band you've heard amillion times. You know fast drums angry singer . Punk used to be the most awesome thing i think punk needs a cae lift who is with me it sounds too stale and clinical theese days.

  • one of the best punk singles ever .

  • Esto es como para cortar pasto y fumártelo.

  • Excellent

  • That rockzzz!!!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Damn this is a catchy song. I've had it stuck in my head for days. Lyrics are a bit nasty, though.

  • excellent track & energy ! long time no hear, thnks for sharing this.

  • This was originally the A side but Roger at Chiswick decided to change it to No One as he figured I.D. wouldn't get airplay.

  • @vegetabulman walkin down the road with my incediary device

lookin for a lady, blow er up with gelignite

stick it in er lug-oles watch it blow er 'ead apart

stick it in er lug-oles stick it in er other parts

  • STICK IT IN HER LUG 'OLE!!!

  • Johnny Moped is the lions testicles.

  • RESPECT!!! to Johnny and the gang - for their clarion-call to terrorism and random extreme violence

I have a small but perfectly-formed collection of punk 45s, including tghis one, acquired when I was a regular listener to John Peel's radio show in the late seventies - JP was a champion of this record, and I treasure it along with his memory.

    Thanks for posting!!

  • Ole, they only released one album - 'Cycledelic' as Zluggo mentioned above. I've never heard it, and it does seem to be missing 'No-one', the all-important b-side. But still well worth a listen, I'm sure. There is quite a bit of Moped on Youtube if you look around. Thanks to everyone for all the positive comments, I never expected such a reaction to a song I thought we'de all forgotten. ^_^

  • @vegetubleman Needless to say, it's a nessessity. Came out in the UK with a single cover with info'd inner sleeve and with a fold out cover in the Netherlands (the stuff inside the F/O equalled the UK inner sleeve),And,on top of that, track one/side one on both pressings was a 'double track', meaning that depending on where you put the needle down,it might hit a hidden track (some 'psychedelic' bollocks congratulating you for finding it) instead of the song mentioned on the cover.Classic.

  • @vegetubleman

Probably telling you something you already know, but on a 'few' of the early Cycledelic LPs (how old am I!) the first track on side one was ......two tracks, (two grooves running parallel) You have to position the needle just right to play the 'bonus' track, otherwise you keep getting the 'first' track. I'll try and find out what the bonus track is (not got my album here at the min.........Basically)

Thanks for popping this on......... good good stuff......

    Bye

  • @minz1066 I remember the 'mystery track' was just johnny saying "so you've found the mystery track to some sort of hippy cycl/hedelic backing, good LP. Captain Sensible told me (after I asked him about Johnny ,C1979) that he nearly played for J.M.but they chucked him out, and I do remember from Pete Frame'e Family Trees that this was the first band that Chrissy Hynde fronted when she came to England, course I coulda dreamt it all, see ya tomcats.

  • I love this ! were to start ! Witch album? Please !? :) Peace

  • One of the first punk singles I bought. My mum absolutely hated it. It is quite a horrible song I suppose, but that was the idea. Any chance of upping the flipside?

  • Thanks, guys. Bastuz, I put some lyrics up that I found on a blog, but there doesn't seem to be complete agreement about what the right words are. For years I thought he was singing 'What could go wrong with my incendiary device?' !

  • One of their best tunes. Great band!

    "Cycledelic".

  • fucking epic !

  • Where can I read the lyrics?

  • Yeah, I was in two minds about whether to upload it, but in the end decided it was part of our glorious musical heritage hehehe.
