  • He is so sloppy, I can't believe it!

  • Aaaaaaaaah i need a tissue !

  • < 3

  • Wow... you gotta love how people say crap like, "Hendrix would have been proud of Jack White." What the fuck? Chances are you never knew Hendrix and just because you idolize him and love his music (Who doesn't?) doesn't mean you knew the man. So shut up.... Love Jack White though!!!! His music is sexy and got to love the blues.....

  • god damn. anyone know where you can get guitars sorta like jacks kay hollowbody? i mean not exactly but ya know same idea. same shape maybe. lol

  • @FlyingNarwhal12 I got a vintage kay hollowbody, just like jacks, off ebay for 130 bucks

  • @FlyingNarwhal12 There is a brand new model that washburn makes called HB-15. It's a single pickup guitar that looks just like jacks hollowbody does underneath the tape he's put on it. I have one my self and they are good guitars. I'm not sure how they sound compared to jacks kay, but has far as looks go, it's almost the same guitar

  • @russin94 thanks man!

  • @FlyingNarwhal12 No problem dude!

  • @FlyingNarwhal12 Try a Washburn HB15 around 250quid

  • @FlyingNarwhal12 his amp is the key to the tone. not the guitar

  • @FlyingNarwhal12

I guess you can't get his tone even if you have a guitar similar to his. Cuz there's no such thing as 2 guitars sounding alike.

I suppose you'll need his amp and fuzz box too.

Most importantly, you don't have his hands.

  • jack should totally make a solo album playing like this. like son house, lead belly, rev. gary davis and all those guys he idolizes

  • Looks to much like ball and biscuit :P

  • @xxqcwaslukxx

Blues songs consit of 3 chords. So nearly ever blues song sounds a bit similar.

  • @Vogelfrei777 you meant to say metal lol not blues

  • Lol i've listened to this like like over 1000 times the 1000 times is mine :D

  • You can hear that it's kinda based on Ball and Biscuit, but it's no wonder since making a whole song pretty much on the spot without some kind of scale to follow must be very diffucult. Glad he decided to release it

  • @CatWalkingOnTwoLegs He kind of has a scale to follow, blues scale.

  • @CatWalkingOnTwoLegs It's twelve bar blues in E. Just like Ball and Biscuit. That's why it sounds similar. I'm glad too!

  • so dirty

  • One of the greatest sounds off Jack!

  • Comment removed

  • jimi hendrix much?

  • @moskov12nicholas not really, they just both happen to be great blues artists

  • greatest?best? wtf...music is not a competition!

I listen to this song...and sounds awesome!!!!!!

  • @Spaceapeschannel Amen!!! Just... people... don't go around comparing an artist to other artists.... keep it to yourself and grow up. Music is music. Its their for happiness. Bask in it....

  • Fucking marry me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • i can't play electric guitar without doing 0:30-0:35 at least once. And by once I mean a dozen times. Minimum. My roommate must hate me.

  • best alive? No. He's very talented but definitely not the best, be as blind as you wish but he isn't number 1

  • @freakkiller277 then be a man and throw your 2 cents in, whos the best?

  • @JumpPunchandRUN Personally, I prefer classic rock and guys that came before our generation (sorry I don't know how old you are, I assume your in your late teens) so I would have difficulty pinpointing one all time favorite. But to answer you, I would probably say one of: Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Randy Rhodes. Guys like that.

  • @freakkiller277 those guys are good, people just have different opinions is all, i would never consider them number 1 but it doesnt make it so, so in my book jack white is number one, and no one can tell me different :)

  • @freakkiller277 those guys are good, people just have different opinions is all, i would never consider them number 1 but it doesn't make it so, so in my book jack white is number one, and no one can tell me different :)

  • @freakkiller277 I totally agree that Jack White is not the best guitarist alive, but he is nonetheless my favorite guitarist of all time. I consider Jack White to be the greatest guitarist of this generation, if that's more reasonable...

  • @transfrmpnguinz absolutely, I respect your opinion. As I said I am impressed with Jack White all round- although I just figure he could do just a little bit more with his playing

  • @freakkiller277 what hes playing dosnt matter at all, its how it sounds and if it sounds like he feels

  • 24 people dont have two legs and hate spiders

  • whooaa, chack, badabada ; whooaa, chack, badabada........

    whaaoowaaiiieeerghh, badabadadad.......i love jack white!

  • Jack White isn't as technically good as Page, Hendrix or Clapton, but if any of them heard that total BADASS sound coming out of their amps, they wouldn't have the guts to admit it was them, whereas Jack White is proud of the out-of-tune blues sound he makes, and thats what makes it work so well. Not saying it's bad, it's total blues ownage, but you can't deny his guitar is out of tune. Rock On Jack!

  • @BossinDaBlues Must agree with you. I have no doubt those three are better guitarists, but whenever I listen to Jack White stuff I only listen to the guitar, whereas the others have more going on. I do think though, that Hendrix would be pretty pleased with these tones and I'm pretty sure he had some similar sounds to Jack White on occasion.

  • Jack (Gillis) White....pure fuckin awesome...

  • thanks. i never heard the full version.

  • spider got eight legs

    and i got two

    this guitar got six strings

    what about you?

  • most of everything jack does is improv.... so talented. he was my inspiration to not only play guitar but to get into blues musicians like Muddy Waters and Lightning Hopkins. I'm from Memphis, TN home of all of that. and of course jack is from Nashville, TN. nothing like blues from the south

  • @nightprowler93 Jack is from Detroit not Nashville

  • @TheBlackestKey damn your right. he just lives in nashville currently :/ fail

  • Anyone else think of Ball and Biscuit when they listen to this song? :D

  • @transfrmpnguinz Definitely - same structure, chord progression. What a badass!

  • awesome but i really dont get why they compare him to page or clapton etc. They are all great musicians with their very own style.

And Jack White is without a doubt one of the most impressive guitar players around wheter you like him or not.

  • YAH!

  • @barrytrussell1 not callin Jack Yah or anything, all I meant is when I first heard the song thats the first word that came to mind,Yah has definatly blessed young Jack.Peace

  • 1:45 That why i love this song so much!!!!

  • Jack White defiantly needs to make more solo stuff

  • @Pjante def.. what?

  • fuck yeah, love this guy!!

  • Dirty. Incredibly Dirty Sound!

  • what's the guitar on the pic?

  • @whrgremp Jack White's trusty Kay N-1. It's a 1950s hollow body guitar, Jack covers it in craft paper to stop feedback. He also cut the bottom bit off the pickguard because it was getting in his way when he played. He plays it pretty much for all his slide stuff in Open A tuning. Hope that helped :)

  • @ericneedsanap @koldry thanks, im just looking around for one of the green bullets or something along those lines for my new band, Cursed Mayhem

  • @vampire7132 Wow really cool name.

  • @vampire7132 It's either a copperphone, made by placid audio, or a green bullet microphone. Sorry that I don't know any more than that.

  • I heard Jack wrote this song pretty much on the spot, that true?

  • @bigchief70 yeah

  • @bigchief70 watch it might get loud he writes it in front of u

  • @bigchief70 He wrote and recorded it in 10 minutes

  • @bigchief70 In 20 minutes i think

  • @bigchief70 see yourself... google "It Might Get Loud"

  • @bigchief70 yes

  • @bigchief70 It's on the "It Might Get Loud" documentary. You should definitly watch it.

  • What kind of harmonica mic is he using?

  • @vampire7132 hmmm...in the movie, where he recorded this song, he was talking about green bullet harmonica mic :D

  • @vampire7132 coles 4038 mic

surprisingly its 1,300 dollars and its mainly meant for brass instruments. I wouldn't suggest getting one for a harmonic or your voice unless you want it to sound like dirty dishwater..

  • In my second life, I want to be Jack Whites guitar pick...

  • I think he's singing through a harmonica mic.

  • @sparkytrick i thinks so too but he also has the mic go through his guitar so the mic, along with the guitar, gets very distorted. guy's a genius

  • Disturbingly Analog. I like it!

  • sorry but there are way more reasons this sounds like ball and biscuit than the fact that it's 12 bar blues in e. the vocal phrasing and many of the licks are used in ball and biscuit, for example when he moves from e up to the b chord. it's a great song anyway, and since he wrote both who cares

  • sounds a bit like 'Ball And Biscuit' to me

  • I'm happy to see that this song was recorded.

First I thought It was just for It might get loud.

  • Imagine this song with Meg White drumming in the background... fuck I miss The White Stripes.

    And no, I'm not baked.

    ^Just kidding - Teehee^

    In other words: I'm baked.

  • Er...That guitar is in standart tuning...Just tried it...Those notes while he sings are the G, B, and E string.

  • Edge suxxx ass. He hides behind too many effects. Without them, you would hear a mediocre guitarist. He pails in comparison to Jack White.

  • True statement

    no foolin'

  • How many of you guys knew this was written and recorded in 10 minutes?

  • @OvertheHills821 i did. :)

  • @OvertheHills821 I did! :) Jack White is the best!

  • Awesome.

  • what key is this in? g?

  • @bennyboy360 i think that guitar is tuned open a

  • stop fuckin arguing just listen to this awesome shit

  • Reminds me a bit of Ball and Biscuit. I'm pretty sure it's the same chords.

  • @CarmineXC

Yeah :) It's called the twelve bar blues. You could call it a "stock" chord progression for the blues :P You'll find it in many songs.

  • JACK WHITE IS THE GREATEST GUITARIST ALIVE.

    NO QUESTION.

  • @Jamin831 not yet, Jimmy page is still alive haha

  • @Jamin831 really, he's a better songwriter than a guitarist, but he's still good.

  • @Jamin831 john mayer. you may blatantly disagree but their styles are very different though rooted in similar shit.

  • @Jamin831 I prefer Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Dan Auerbach, Johnny Winter, Peter Green, Eric Gales, Mato Nanji

  • @Jamin831 ha ha ha nice joke idiot

  • @Jamin831 Correction: Jack White is the greatest musician alive. No question. But yes, he is a fanfuckingtastic guitarist.

  • @Jamin831 I totally 100% agree with that. I mean he was in a documentry with Jimmy Paige and The Edge, you can't argue with that/

  • @Jamin831 not just greatest guitarist, but all around the greatest musician. undeniable creativity!

  • @Jamin831 Not quite that spot is probably held by Jimmy Page, dont believe me watch "It Might Get Loud" in which Page, White and The Edge all talk about there music, influences, instruments and all that fun stuff. Then watch Jimmy pick up his 59 and play the opening riff to Whole Lotta Love and look at the facial expressions on both Jack White and The Edge, its like they saw titties for the first time!

  • @ShoreStudios i too smiled like a little baby.. i do so everytime i see that part. frickin awesome!

  • @Jamin831 Better than BB King?

  • @neemguy81 Better than Jimi Page?

  • @neemguy81 Better than Jimmy Page?

  • @Jamin831 best guitarist of the current generation, no doubt. but best alive is a long shot.

  • @Jamin831 Hes great but not the best alive! Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Angus Young, David Gilmour are much better than him!

  • @themanchild27 Jack has a very nasally voice, but i think after a while you really like to start it. My girlfriend told me last week his voice is like sex lol. its like Led Zepplin, Jimmy page said he really wanted to hurt peoples earsits one of those it hurts so good things :P lol. Meg does alright shes not an intricite drummer, but she doesnt want to be like that, and Jack doesnt want her to be like that either. Just sit back and say Wow, this is good real music Be glad someone still does that

  • If he was born in the 40's, he will be one of the most famous guitarists ever. But unfortunatelly, now you can't do what he did. He's a little Crosby or Zappa in his head with some genius in his mind !

  • Just dreadful. All I actually wanted to do was point out the similarities between this and the seeker by the who

  • Seeing as it's the argument of the moment I may contribute; jack is a great guitarist, and very refreshing in the current musical climate where everything is so phoney. As for slash, he is talented but I don't think he's ever played in a good song, and this thing if being some kinda musical prostitute playing with whomever takes his fancy (or vice versa) is just annoying. As for page, he's a god, and can't be compared against these mere men. As for those bringing the edge into this... Well he's

  • Slash is a sell out and really not all that great. There are alot of better guitarists out there such as Jack White/Joe Bonamassa/Chuck berry/Muddy Waters/Howlin Wolf/Hubert Sumlin. When i see Slash play drums, vibraphones, mandolin, cigar box guitar, diddley bo, mandolin, and piano as good as Jack White then you can bring him up on this page untill then quick being a fan boy for a half rate guitarist and shut up and quit posting. This page is about good music not stupid arguements. Grow up.

  • @BlueDiamondPro Listen to 90% of chuck berrys songs.. they start off the EXACT same. he was just revolutionary.. that was it.. And joe bonamassa relies on too many effects in my opinion.

  • @BlueDiamondPro no no no no. you dont understand Slash. He`s never tryed to be one of the greats. Slash is all about pure rock`n roll.

  • dumb ass, slash is a sell out and really not all that great. There are alot of better guitarists out there such as Jack White/Joe Bonamassa/Chuck berry/Muddy Waters/Howlin Wolf/Hubert Sumlin. When i see Slash play drums, vibraphones, mandolin, cigar box guitar, diddley bo, mandolin, and piano as good as Jack White then you can bring him up on this page untill then quick being a fan boy for a half rate guitarist.

  • Amazing ♥ ♥ ♥

  • OK you guitar geniuses who diss Jack White. Tell us exactly why you say he isn't that great. I don't play so I can't talk technique, but there is some really inventive shit going on here. I'm a huge Jimmy Page fan, but White's doing something special.

  • @79barkingspider

You're absolutely right. Everyone who thinks Jack White isn't a good guitarist are mechanical minded. They don't understand ambition and passion. And that's what Jack has. Jack is an amazing guitarist.

  • The coolest improv ever.

  • i love the kinda artists that write their songs based on experiences. Jack white is the man that MADE those kinda artists.

  • Talent + Creativity +Sense = Jack White

  • unarguable: coolest guy ever to keep his wife's last name after the divorce

  • Jack White is the real deal!

He has the "Blues Mans" attitude. And that is, "If you don't like, move your ass down the road, son!"

  • he's a genius!!

  • Just discovered jack white recently , makes me happy to know, there are still some good bluesmen out in the open nowdays

    peace

  • @182fooz i feel you yo, same shit i was thinkin lol

  • Jack White!

no more words to describe something amazing

  • This is from "It Might Get Loud."

  • I love that a new generation of musicians is looking back at the blues, its our turn to take it and run

  • this man is a god!!

  • @flybarnette so agree

  • What is that box over amp?

  • @marwooj It's just an old cabinet. You can see the mesh and brand signature if you look, and sitting on top of it are the heads.

  • This is awesome, it is my favorite song. I am 12 years old, and children my age seem to prefer Justin Bieber, I simply don't get why he is famous, Jack White should be more known in my opinion. My friends probably are not rockers, and everybody has his own taste.

  • Jack White is a true rock n roller. He shoulda been born around the 40s or 50s.

  • @santanaincubus yeah he woulda fitted in then....but im perfectly happy to have him here in this time frame ;)

  • @santanaincubus I'm glad he was born when he was. He inspires and save people from the crap around nowadays. Believe me, I'm affected

  • @ztikmaen Yes, he is pretty much a modern day legend.

  • Mass appeal shouldn't matter when it comes to music. Cuz it sure as hell dont matter nowadays lol.

  • Comment removed

  • jack white is a fucking god. seriously. i can't even ehjwgknfdmsa this man is my hero. i wish i were half the musician he is

  • Okay, i'm obviously missing something here, so at the risk of upsetting everyone....wtf is so special about this guy, he sounded like my mate Gordy after about 25 beers?

  • @DastardlyDawkins Thats cause he's using voice modulation. Good listen to anything done by The White Stripes, you'll see his genius.

  • @DastardlyDawkins he wrote and recorded this song in less than 30 minutes...that is pretty special.

  • @wick2107 Correction; less than ten!

  • @wick2107 10 minutes actually

  • He's not underrated among those who understand good music and that's what really matters, isn't it?

  • Also im hoping to see him put out a solo blues album like the blues legends of the past! Maybe like burnside or son house since he does love son house

  • His voice is distorted by his harmonica mic just like when he uses the green bullet mic

  • If I keep making my maths homework with this backgroundm I will finish for teaching maths to my teacher---

  • He is under rated because he doesnt have the mass appeal he should have.

  • anyone can do this thats why jack white is so inspiring. hes got two mics mics there, some distortion pedals, his kickass vintage amp head, his raw blues playing and voice and that sweet ass kay archtop.

all you need is two mics (and a beaten up porch) and you too could be like him.

  • @Theshamham i dont think just ANYONE could do this.

  • @Jahklen if u work hard enough u can sound like him. of course not exactly but everyones unique. still his style is not impossible to at least try and copy a little. hes a great influence for anyone playing blues or recording themselves. my sound is starting to get a little like him espically my tone.

  • what kind of distortion is he using on his vocals?

  • @ManSeaDude none

  • thank you for sharing this raw blues awesome in my oppinion

  • this is what blues is all about.

  • This was written and recorded in 10 minutes :) Awesome

  • This is musical porn! THANK YOU JACK WHITE!!!

  • its damn good to hear jack in his "natural" bluesy state...i mean hes good with rock, but hes definitely got a blues man's soul...well, i suppose he DID, before he sold it to the devil...

  • @GuitaRDudE6722 damn they got him too man?

  • @steviewonder417 must have...theres only one way a true bluesman gets his skill in the lovely art...so now theres only one thing to do...find the devil and beat Jack White's soul out of him so i can have it for myself!! >:D

  • there shouldnt be a discription for this cuz there are no fucking words to discribe this.

  • alright guys, Kurt Cobain wasn't a great guitarist, but he was a fucking genius when I comes to singing/screaming songwriting, AND he was a great lyrisist

his music has changed the world, he hast been dead for 17 years and people still remember him, that means something

and yes, jimi hendrix is the best guitarist we had

now I would put jimmy page on the number one

    and jack white nummer two

  • I came here because they compared him to the black keys....please try again.

if the keys are black, jack is white

  • Guy is PURE genius! My hat is off to you Mr.White,

  • how do you figure he is under rated? He was ranked #17 on Rolling Stone's list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" #17 of all time guitar players! If that is under rated...........

  • @LRob7749 he's neither underrated nor overrated. The amount of love he's given is equal to the amount warranted
