@jameshisself if you understood anything about engineering you wouldn't buy the "jet fuel conspiracy theory". buildings are built with fire rated materials, especially steel. meaning that if they catch on fire, which they sometimes do, the steel wont all melt and cause the building to collapse into its own footprint and kill everyone inside instantanously. if jet fuel burned hot enough to melt structural steel it would melt the turbine and the bearings inside it.

If you knew anything about metallurgy you wouldn't think that the properties of the metals in a jet engine share anything at all with the structural steel used in a building. This is the kind of ignorance that gives these ridiculous theories traction. @activechaos128 Again Epic fail. I've been an educated and working engineer for over 20 years. I cut with Oxy, water jet, plasma, etc. and weld with MIG, TIG and friction stir. Again you are comparing apples and oranges. Oxy CUTS steel, the WTC fire WEAKENED it to the point of structural failure. HUGE difference in temperature thresholds. Find just one certified structural engineer that agrees with you and this debate will be over. Problem is there aren't any.

There is not enough room here to teach this to you. Research it and apply your own analysis using repeatable, controlled experimentation and observation. The main thing I see you missing is controlling ALL known variables. A bonfire has nothing in common with WTC's enclosed crucible except for flames. Temps are way, WAY higher.

A need to make sense is a human condition that limits us to preconceived notions based on assumptions about things we think we already know. You based your 'science' on assumptions that planes and fuel can't bring down the towers, and that the velocity and mass of the towers falling a 1/4 mile straight down can't bring down a neighboring building. @jameshisself I know that explosives can bring buildings down because the experiment has been done many times and usually yeilds the same results. the same is not true however for buildings that have cought on fire. there have been several cases where large steel frame buildings have cought on fire and have burned for hours and did not collapse.

I won't debunk every inadequate comparison that you can come with, but you're ignoring the 2 most important factors in the collapse of the towers. The kinetic energy of the plane impact which significantly weakened the structure, and the fuel which greatly intensified the fire. The tower's particular design also made them somewhat more susceptible than a typical steel framed building to this type of event.

@jameshisself you obviously haven't seen the footage of building 7 collapsing. it collapsed at around 5:30 pm where the twin towers fell at around 10:30-11:00 am. building 7 collapsed completly from a 47 story building to a pancake of rubble in about 6.5 seconds. i'm sorry but that doesn't happen due to collateral damage. we aren't talking about a couple windows shattering. we are talking about complete structural failure.

@oicub2 The WTC actually took more along the lines of 12-13 seconds to collapse. The core columns hadn't even fallen completely down when the collapse ended in most videos. The WTC was also much heavier, so of course it would go down faster.
